This deal doesnt work online, but can be reserved for store pickup, not a bad deal, its £180 on play and amazon, dont know if the other two games are worth £20 though?

At the moment I am undecided on what to buy,

This package with my discount, £180
or
Elite with no games, £234

Well, you're paying an extra £54 for the Elite just to get a 120gb hdd. That's the only difference these days... oh... and to get a black console. It's not really worth it. Go for the above package.

both games can be picked up for around £10

As well as the 120 GB hard drive you get the official HDMI cable, and Audio splitter

Viva Pinata is worth next to nothing, Halo 3 is worth about £10.

I'd say the package is the better deal, it won't be too long before you can get an XBox 120gb hard drive for the difference of about £60 anyway (well maybe 6 months or so - just speculation no fact to this :p).

...dont forget 1.5% Quidco

HALO 3: £10 posted here yesterday

Viva Pinata + Forza 2: £10 at CEX

Don't forget, the new forthcoming dashboard update will make use of the extra HDD space (you'll be able to install games and play them off the HDD), so even though I'd give this heat, the Elite will be a better purchase.

Viva Pinata is £3.99 in the blockbuster sale at my local (westcliff)

So - is this available in store? Sorry for my thickness!

Ahhh - sorry! The 2 games free is offer 4 right at the bottom of the 60gb page. Silly me.

Thats not quite true. You get an HDMI lead and the optical out dongle with the Elite, which retails at about £25 I think.

Without the dongle, it is a bit of a pain connecting an HDMI and optical cable at the same time.

Can you use the transfer cable, from the 20 gig to the 60 gig, like the elite, and do you need to send away for it?

Does anyone KNOW for SURE? Called support, but as per, the mongs at support are totally oblivious to the fact that there even is a 60 gb sku!

I have £40 in argos gift vouchers i need to use...

Do I get the 360 with Halo3 and VivaPinata for £160... or with PG3, Crackdown, Forza2, and Gears for £200?

I'd go for first option as you can get all games for approx £10...therefore get £160 with two games and buy other four for approx £10 each, giving Xbox and 6 games for £200...bargain

The elite would be a better buy if you have a 1080p tv as you can only pass 1080i over the component cable.

how does HDMI compare to component if viewing at 720p (best available on my tv?)

Hi mate if your tv just suppports 720p you wouldn't see much difference with hdmi really so component would be fine.

i got the new 60 gb price matched from pc world yesterday for £177 then got hdmi lead from home bargains for £2.99 and it looks great on my 720p TV
