What is the review about this one please?

"it's not a smarwatch but a new MiBand with round face and odd bezel"
not even supported by playstore or Watch OS. you can only track fitness activity and receive a notification from app.

to me should be about a half of the asking price.

Tbf the watch I'm wearing now does only that, and that cost £107 from amazon and has been out a year or so (watch gt) so that's good for my needs.

I own Huawei Watch 2, purchased from Currys almost 3 years ago for £139. This watch does that + everything else watches you can find on fully-fledged WearOS devices including making and answering phone calls, using voice assistant with 'CityMapper' to navigate, answer to messages by voice and many more. each to their own.
you can install numerous of apps from PlayStore.
Nothing of such can be done with those "smart watches"

Exactly, and the one thing I wanted with this, is stellar battery life, none of the other stuff bothered me except notifications. I'm happy with it. And don't have to charge it every other day.
I like the look of this watch but I'm holding out for the global version of the xiaomi mi watch. I love the shameless apple rip off.

without the apple price tag as well, win win
Holding out for global as well.

It does look nice

So the NFC bit is useless if it only works in China

Why would Watch OS need to support another watch?
Dont think it even has english language yet. I don't think it has benefits over the mi band 4 unless you want a bigger screen.

I think Wear OS has been left to grow old unfortunately as I think it would have been the best option for many watches like this.
Something about it being on an ancient Snap Dragon SOC, however, I read that they are updating it soon.

I also read that Xiaomi/ or Humai have brought out a new watch with Wear OS - their first for a while - so we may see some decent ones going forward.

I currently have a Amazit Pace which I think is great for the money and fits more in your "fitness band on a watch" with on board music so it doesn what I need.....

But on the look out for something decent at a decent price ...would you still recommend Huawei watch 2 or is it way too old now not sure they have anything newer/better?

it's ok for what it is, it's well build and sustained knocks and bangs pretty well through the time, it's almost three years now and no significant scratches, no dings, screen is intact because it's flushed inside the outer ring so there was no danger of direct contact with hard surfaces.
It's not a looker for sure, and there are far better looking watches out there, but I like it for what it is.
If you want Watch OS and access to the google play store and it's hundreds of apps, you can give it a shot but I'd rather go with TicWatch which is far superior in every aspect.

What makes this superior?

WearOS. It's one of the few available with the Snapdragon 3100 processor as well
stec7718/01/2020 21:27

my brother tried one but said it was problematic with iPhone?

if you are an iphone guy the choice is obvious, applewatch.
you need an android phone to complete the WearOS setup.
