What date please? x

It's for her and her husband... Not sure a 3rd person is going to work

Calm down Greta It's still less than harry and Meghan.

It is worth a thought though!

Everyone is losing their s#@t over plastic bags and coffee cups when flights usually account for the largest proportion of a person's carbon footprint.

I'm no eco warrior and I'm not preaching, I've taken my fair share of flights (usually 2 or 3 return flights to europe a year), but having been made aware of the environmental impacts I'm now trying to cut down.

I only made the comment because, if people are starting to think about these things, not taking a flight to NY for a couple of days shopping is a good start.

To look at it another way, the carbon footprint is the same whether you stay in NY for 2 days or 2 years :/

If you look for it on street view it is still showing the old Hotel Metro. I liked the restaurant in Brendans opposite but that was about six years ago so it may have changed now.
Have nice time.
@connonlaura flying on the 29th ;). More than happy for you to join us the more we are the better
From the looks of a basic search, the flight times are pretty pony.

Gives you just about 2 full days, Thursday and Friday, which doesn't cut it for a round trip to New York for me at all.
Certainly not for £350

Hope you guys have a good time though.

I get what your saying about only 2 full days. NYC has so much to offer that tough choices will need to be made on what to see. Having said that, for the price this couple have paid it's a bargain. For anyone fortunate to have been there before, 2 days would be ok.
Be ready to spend 5 X more on food, drinks, entertainment and tipping. NY is so expensive, it hurts even after your holiday.
Thanks OP, for this price it's fab. I have paid almost £600 pp for 5 nights at this hotel, travelling mid February from Heathrow - 2 days is not a long time, but planning each day helps - most places are open until late each night, cram it in and have a fab time.
If I wan't already going (again) I would be booking :-D
Hell of a carbon footprint for a long weekend away
Dont forget most hotels in NYC now charge a 'resort fee' which is around $30 per night and is non-negotiable and always on top of your pre-booked price. Just so folks are aware.
We did this hotel just before it changed from the Metro...lovely place lovely rooms but, like air NY its noisy....the rooftop bar is amazing and it's very central...this is s good price just avoid JFK, nightmare immigration...

It seems you can change the inbound flight to the 22:00 flight on 01/02/20 arriving 09:50 on 02/02/20 for £0.00 extra cost when booking, for the OP's chosen dates, giving you and additional whole day in NYC for no extra cost.

Still naff outbound flight times and an average price for Winter trip, you can do much better than this booking separate flight + hotel, in tersm of £'s spent per hour of actual useful time at your desitantion.
I tend to visit family when I'm in NY. Majority live in predominantly black neighbourhoods in bedford stuy and Jamaica Queens.....these neighbourhoods are so poor and deprived with extremely high crime rates and drug problems. Its a far cry from the nice hotels I'm lodged at in NYC, Manhattan or the Financial District.

I sometimes reflect how lucky we are here in the UK and credit the British Govt and public for the opportunities aplenty for people of colour, for creating a somewhat fair society, their empathy and laws to promote inclusivity and a safe society. Dont get me wrong, no society is perfect but the UK is a much fairer society than other western countries
Youll pass OPs deal picture on way to Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Brooklyn.

It is worth thinking about - however like the straw and cup media rubbish, it is irrelevant. For example cutting out plastic straws in the UK is equivalent to the footprint of about 2000 new cars in the UK - 2 million are registered each year.
The real issue is consumer demand where everyone expects continually rising standards and it will take a huge shift to change this.
George Monbiot can be a bit irratating with his broad predictions - but a lot of what he says makes sense.

Think you've been listening too much to Priti ("Nothing-To-See-Here") Patel?

Or maybe you've not watched UK news, or seen any statistics about UK racism. Ever.

Think you're patronising.

They never said there was no racism in the UK, they made a good point comparing racism in the UK to the US, which is like chalk and cheese.

I see someone with a HUGE chip on their shoulder! Rubbish!!!
Like I stated, there is no perfect society where racism is non existent....even amongst people of colour we have problems.....read about xenophobic attacks in South Africa, Hutu & Tutsi conflict and the Sudan Civil War/Conflict.

However the UK has done more in terms of promoting and supporting inclusivity, tolerance for minority groups and in general a safe and fairer society...it is not perfect but far better than most western nations.

Yeah we rocked up and there was a queue, but the group in front looked like they were just smoking outside. Went up and asked them, turns out it is indeed a group of smokers. Walked in and got a table, bypassing about 30 people lining up. I guess you should always ask if in doubt
Just a bit of warning make sure you pick your flights right, they wanted £185 for me to change my fights today! from a night flight to a day flight.
