How hard can it be to put a $1 sd card slot on these things!!!! pass.

Like rocket science or curing aids when youre in the business of "upselling" more ram and higher storage options for the same model phone

Moste storage I had on my phones was 64gb and I was always fine but you are right that option to extend storage on phones should be always there.

You'd have thought by now they need to add actually useful things back in.

microSD
Armoured
Waterproof
Hardware Walkie Talkie
IR Blaster
3.5" Headphone Jack
GSM Arena says this is dual sim??

Yeah unfortunately there's no innovation only stagnation. Manufacturers keep adding some features and deliberately removing others only to add them again down the line as something new in order to entice us to buy. Just a shame the fan boys and general public alike are duped into upgrading year in year out for no real reason!

My armoured uleFone should last me 5 years+ I reckon, built like a tank and everything works great.
Wonder if this has stereo speakers... Would pretty much match everything I'd want in a phone if it did, apart from maybe the software.

Also all the extra software headaches of supporting it and the backlash when things so wrong as someone uses a slow unknown branded or a fake SD card. Additionally phone's camera apps doesn't support direct write to the SD card as if they do they have to limit functions as the write speed just cannot match UFS (2.1 or 3.0) or even the old MMC!

Using as adoptable storage is an option as I have on my Nvidia Shield TV, but I wouldn't in a phone as I can imagine them failing with all the read and writes it has to go through!
Went on a bit of a rant there but I was looking at this when it was announced.....the conversion to GBP hasn't gone well.

I know it's a gaming phone but I wonder how good the cameras are. I'm tempted but all depends on cameras.

So does the spec in the advert

  • Display Resolution: 2340x1080
  • Rear Camera Quantity: 4
  • Charging Interface Type: TYPE-C
  • Front Camera Pixel: 12MP
  • Wireless Charging: NO
  • Design: BAR
  • SIM Card Quantity: 2 SIM Card
  • Display Size: Other
  • 3.5mm Headphone Port: NO
Excellent price point on those specifications, very tempting, with the raft of quality android releases recently, i can see Google revising the specs of the 4a whilst they have delayed it to compete.
