Had this cruise before, not recommended as you only have few hours visiting Amsterdam. Waste of time really.
BadMF11 h, 32 m ago

Again, nope. Arrive back 5.30 Tuesday.

So you arrive in Amsterdam at 8am Tuesday, leave at 5.30pm on the Tuesday, arrive back in Newcastle 5.30pm on the Tuesday? Thick as a castle wall you sunshine.

Went last June, due to delays getting into port and then traffic on the coach into Amsterdam we eventually arrived in the city around 12.15 to be told to be back where they dropped us off for 4.30pm! Complete waste of time couldn't venture further than a mile from the drop off. The ferry prices for things i.e beer, refreshments were extortionate too!

The return journey starts at 17.30 on the Tuesday - when do you think you get in to Newcastle?
If you're not counting the journey time back, why are you counting the journey time there? So this isn't a 3 day trip, it's not a 2 day trip - it's a 1 day trip going by your logic.

Edit - sorry I've just realised you must be thick.

Shame it doesn't allow a stop over in Amsterdam. Not enough time to spent in the city.

Used to be booked months in advance, decent cabins like commodore practically unobtainable
Oh and the decks are out of bounds after dark cos idiot from hen party fell overboard drunk once,BTW drinks are crazy expensive
Basically this is a 3 day drink and drugs bender.

If that's your thing, good. If not, avoid.
3 days? You leave at 17.30 pm on a Monday (for example) and you arrive back around the same time the following day.
Not enough time to pick yourself out of the canal.
So just enough for coffee and cake
Do I need a passport to travel or would a Provisional Drivers License suffice?

No you don't. Using your example you'd arrive 8am ish on Tuesday, leave Amsterdam at 17.30 on Tuesday, arrive Newcastle at 8am Wednesday.

Spend a few quid more and go by Eurostar ( Probably only viable for us Southern Softies who live within the M25)

It'd cost me double the cost of this trip in fuel there and back, let alone the parking.

No pal, you literally get less than five hours in Amsterdam. Unless you've done this run before, pipe down.

Done it about a dozen times so can I pipe up? So is it a 1 day or 2 day trip? Do you leave at 17.30 on Tuesday and arrive in Newcastle the same day? You've never done this trip before have you??
Oh my, dense one
BadMF09/04/2019 23:39

Why are you asking for drink prices on-board on another thread? You've never been on this trip before. I'll spell it out for you, you leave on Monday (so thats day one - still with me?), you arrive about 8ish on Tuesday (day 2), you leave at 1730 on Tuesday (yes, the same Tuesday so we're still on day 2), you arrive back in North Shields at 0830 on the Wednesday (day 3).
Again, nope. Arrive back 5.30 Tuesday.

48 hours, 16.5 hours to get there, an hour to get off boat and into centre of Amsterdam, roughly 5hours in Amsterdam, another hour to get bus back to port and back on the boat, then 16.5 hours back home. 40 hours with 8 hours spare for delays.

You've said you arrive back 5.30pm on Tuesday if you get the Monday ferry out you idiot. Check your posts.
This would be good if it wasn’t Newcastle

Why? Well it's North Shields really.
Is it possible to go just one way? Would be nice way to go to continent for eurotrip without getting on a plane😄
Actually done this twice, not the best trip but done it on a similarly cheap offer. Bear in mind things are very expensive on the ferry so if you're not careful can end up spending a lot, which is what the ferry company is hoping for obviously

Don't get a lot of time in Amsterdam so try and plan ahead, on my first trip there was a delay with the coach so didn't get into Amsterdam until almost 10:30am. If you're trying local "delicacies" then you can time the effects right before pick up back to the ferry so can have a jolly good time back

Speaking of which, sea was very rough on the way back to a point where they closed the bars and restaurants so didn't have much to do. Second trip was better apart from our cheap ticket cabin appear to have been just about above engine room so was very noisy with a lot of vibrations. For 4 guys who were drunk through most of the trip, was ok but definitely not something I'd enjoy for a relaxed family trip!
Anything like this for hull pleSe

Yes. Just don’t return to the boat.

Like the idea but you can only get the direct Eurostar outbound (because of there being no passport control facilities at the station in Amsterdam yet) You could make your own way back to Brussels and get it from there though.
Oh no, not this again! It's not a 'cruise', it's hours and hours on a ferry bobbing about in the North Sea with a load of drunken Geordies and a few minutes in the city once you've found your way to it.
Not the light I was told Id see

Just book two trips it’s still cheap for 2 ppl, £67 each way as many days in between trips as u like in Amsterdam.
Obviously not using one crossing from each trip.
Came here for the arguments and people saying it’s a crap trip
Am sure Andy will jump at this deal for his trip there now babs has arrived!
Why can’t there be a reasonable price for travelling alone

Lol
Done this a few times, pint on the ferry 5 euro (Which isn’t to bad). You get about 5 hours in Amsterdam. If you look at it as the journey on the ferry is a night out and don’t mind the limited time in Amsterdam it’s a good value trip.

to the people who moan if you had read about the trip before booking it tells you the itinerary so you no what your getting.

Personally i prefer refer to fly it’s £110 return from local airport.
