KGB works in similar way to Groupon T&C here kgbdeals.co.uk/com…=GB

The sooner you book and reserve your accom'n the greater the likelihood you'll get the dates you want.

Usual sort of mixed bag, the negatives are complaining the place needs updating and from the deal description it says the place is newly refurbished so shouldn't be a worry now, but remember this is £15pppn, ideal for surf dudes and dudesses, better than camping on the beach in the rain

Can you buy more than one and link up the dates to have a longer stay?? Not gonna go there for just 2-3 days as it takes over five hours to get there for me

I emailed them direct to ask if I could link 2 dates together plus pay the difference for my 2 children.

KGB deal says 1x voucher per couple/visit.

The direct response was it would be cheaper to buy 3x voucher deals and that would include 4 nights stay for me, my husband, our 9yr old and 2yr old on B&B basis (would also bbe 3 bottles of wine).

Hope this helps.

Lived in Newquay for 28 yrs, loved growing up there when the place was a family resort, dont even go back for a visit now, dreadful place, full of drunk teenagers, streets smell of wee, popular stag and hen destination, fights every night, traffic jams along the henver road, poor shopping etc etc, there are plenty of lovely places in cornwall, this is not one of them!

That is so sad as it is my favourite place in the world . Went on holiday there a few times 10 years or so ago and it was lovely then......the beaches are just amazing. Can't believe it's been ruined by flaming drunks!!

Might suit folk on stag and hen does then, cheap accom'n like this would surely leave more money free for beer

Not recom for my young family then? I love Cornwall and thought this would be more "upbeat" for the kids - mind you, it has been probably 15yr since I visited.

All the kids go there to celebrate end of exams, for half term etc and then get drunk and throw themselves off the cliffs

Wouldn't take my 6mth and 16 mth old there if you paid me, even my 18 yr old son is not keen on going there anymore, too confrontational is how he describes the place at night, its such a shame how it has deteriated over the last few years, none of my family live there anymore, they have all moved to other parts of cornwall, if you are looking for a family type holiday, perranporth is still very nice, falmouth has improved, and in devon paignton is good for families, has the zoo, pier, beaches, steam train etc x

Thanks OP - been after a few days away without the kids so might look into this. Could be awkward if there's decent surf tho....."lets go for a romantic weekend...but it's it's 3ft clean & offshore, I'll see you in 6 hours!!!..."

I know the Watergate hotel did a deal for a couple of nights stay out of season last year - was more expensive than this, but did include a meal at Jamie Oliver's place too if that floats your boat.

Been going SW for years & personally I think Newquay is a lot smarter than it was years ago - always found it quite friendly really. Definitely one of the most friendly new years location I have experienced anyway.

Admittedly, I try not to go there in the summer - especially with all the fantastic beaches close by (some of the best in the world IMO). And definitely not on RTTS weekend!!!

Dan

ps- since this is a "deal" site...if anyone is in the market for a new custom surfboard, I know a great shaper in Newquay. PM me for details!

Newquay is truly dreadful, doesn't fit in with the rest of Cornwall at all. Go to St Ives, Polperro, Fowey etc... but don't ever go to Newquay!

What other deal sites are there like KGB deals?

Okay. The system is pretty straightforward. You buy the deal, which will result in a coupon being e-mailed to you, you phone the hotel and book the dates you want and give them the serial number on your coupon. If after you buy the coupon the dates you want are not available you contact KGB for a full refund, details are all in the T&C I posted earlier.

Hope that helps

Also, as I posted earlier... the voucher is valid until 28 May 2011 (as per the conditions on the front page of the KGB offer in relation to this offer).

Great deal and heat added...............however, really shabby system of paying and then being able to pick your dates.

That's the system, just like Groupon, you buy the voucher then make your reservation, I've used them a few times and no problems whatsoever, 100% recommended from me. Like I said before if you can't get the dates you want then send the voucher back within 30 days and get a full refund. So no way of losing out, just of saving money.

This hotel looks in dire need of a refurb but this post had me craving for Cornwall again so I have just gone and booked a weeks holiday in a gorgeous wee house I found in Bude ............I'm so looking forward to going back as not been for 10 years or so.

Just dreading the the 11-12 hour drive!!

Groupon

Groupon are the big guys in this, Living Social and KGB are a bit smaller, then in London there are a couple of really small looking ones (but I've bought off both of them, and they have some good deals) called TipToken and Crowdity.

I don't know about other places, but I bet there are lots of other ones around the country.

All worth checking if you can be bothered to look at that many!!
