Crap as media player due to lack of hdmi 2.0, and 4k output. Better buy nvidia shield tv for Kodi.

Depends whether you need 4k@60fps.

Is all the content that you play 4K@60fps?

It does support 4k@30fps.

Kodi on the Z8300 also handles 4K@60fps with ease, albeit only displaying at the given rate that a TV will be set at.

Nvidia Shield (as is the HiMedia Q10 pro) is excellent but nearly 3 times the price, so that should be noted for those on specific budgets.

Shield was £100 on Amazon prime day.
Intel just keeps making this rubbish even knowing that the world has moved on. Even Chinese Android boxes now come with 4k and hdmi 2.0.

Last time I checked about 99% of mainstream TV and Films are 1080 at best; the world moves on more slowly that you might think.

Even if I had free access to a Time Machine that would cost me nearly twice the price of this once once I added on the cost of one month of Prime access.

Different people have different needs, personally I doubt 4K will interest me until the BBC start offering it.

Nothing comes with 4K AND HDMI 2.0. It's just HDMI 2.0, which can enable the use of 4K.

Kodi experience can be very variable under Android though.

I do agree that it is a shame that Intel haven't been utilising HDMI 2.0 ports but with 4K still being anything but mainstream yet, perhaps it hasn't actually been such a disadvantage.

Always good to have a choice, especially for those who may prefer to use Windows as their choice of OS on a PC based machine rather than Android.

Gearbest? No thanks. Worst company on the planet!
"stability in Windows to that of Android" - Really?

The initial Windows 10 release 10240 was absolute garbage, the current version 10586.494 works fine for most people. Next month 14393 will be out and is the 2nd major release.

I hate running Kodi under Android.

If anyone wants stability, openelec/libreelec is the way to go.

Shield is far more expensive...... Unless you need 4k don't listen to this guy.

This will let you game stream from ps4, xbox one or pc......shield will only do pc and ps4 ( via hack)

2gig ram?! They're really spoiling us.

Windows 10 runs very very slow on Atom. Nothing against Windows 10 but this old rubbish Intel box.

Horses for courses. I have even more RAM in my desktop at work.
And I'd still be tempted in such a 2GB RAM box as a remote client. Or are you claiming I need 32GB RAM for remoting and decoding videos? I'd rather have a completely silent solution for these tasks.

What constructive criticism do you have from your own experiences?

What boxes have you used?

You be da man bro, you got 64 GigantoBytes of RAM in your computing device, I bow before you.
I'm sure everyone else in this thread is amazed and wants to have your babies but we will wait until you are 16 otherwise that would be illegal.
Surely if you want stability you just buy a cheap S805/S905-based device and run OpenElec (Linux) on it?

Running something like this as an appliance is far more reliable than any general purpose OS like Android or Windows.
As if people buying this are worried about the hdmi 2 - how did we manage to watch tv on a crt ?

I have 512gb you peasant. And many leather bound books.
I've got 8gb of ram in a laptop running Linux mint. It rarely uses more than 1.5gb.
2gb for something being used as a media player is fine.. the question is, will this easily convert to Linux? Would be worth googling support for the GPU etc before assuming it will..
