Edited by:"johnjohn44"Found 21st Oct
The dates for the next 3 steam sale has been leaked pcgamer.com/the…ed/

Three developer sources confirmed the dates with Kotaku, providing images, so the leak certainly seems to be legitimate. It covers the Halloween Sale, Autumn Sale and Winter Sale.

Steam Halloween Sale: October 26, 2017 - November 1, 2017

Steam Autumn Sale: November 22, 2017 - November 28, 2017

Steam Winter Sale: December 21, 2017 - January, 2018

Absolutely, we need more support for honest trading sites like G2A and Kinguin. As an added benefit you can disincentivise games companies participating in bundles that benefit charity by using that goodwill to make yourself a few quid. All of which is of course totally related to Steam sales and therefore totally worth bringing up on this post.

+1, quality stuff(!)

steam sales suck now. theres enougb competition that their prices are rarely the best.

Come on valve! Make half life 3! They got rich now and they doesn't care like most rich companies in gaming industry these days....

Kinda true, unless its an older game or bundle pack, this is where steam shines, new releases are easy £10 cheaper if you look around and im not on about kinguin, legit sites are miles cheaper than steam.

Good for DLC as that cant really be bought anywhere else either, so grab your DLC in the sales.

I predict next year will have sales around Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas... You heard it here first.

So nothing for 24th November........hmm can’t see Steam not doing anything for Black Friday. I would rate this as lukewarm

Yeah but they stopped a lot of this when they started bundling keys together. Also you get people saying keys don't work and they rarely have games that are in demand.

I've learnt to ignore sales, you don't save money, you spend money on crap you don't really want.

Why is this a "deal"? Can anyone tell me the price of what anything will be in the sale? What exactly are people voting hot on?

The last few sales I've bought games that are the lowest they've ever been anywhere, besides one day glitches and that sort of thing.

Waiting for Nioh that is coming out on 6 Nov

They don't need to make anything, people still play the old games, and fans have remade Half Life, check it out,

So they'll be having the Halloween sale over Halloween? Intriguing, thank god for pc gamer. I'm not sure I'd have guessed that myself.

they are all rubbish now anyway. no big discounts. better off elsewhere.

Same here i spent best part of a hundred quid last sale, previous sales hardly spent anything

Steam sale(and normal price) is just terrible nowadays, unless its bundle sale. newer AAA dont get discount, Older AAA can be found cheaper on greenman/CDkeys. even physical console copy is cheaper online majority of the time. so i just smh when someone praise steam price

G2A / Kinguin or eBay. It's a case of choose G2A or Kinguin if you don't mind waiting ages for the money or ebay if you want to risk people saying the key didn't work and getting the game for free.

During the sale it is hard to find a lot of the games cheaper elsewhere. I normally check all the alternatives, legit and less so such as g2a and in the last few sales steam is cheapest at that time. You can also get a refund which is handy. For new titles they are terrible though so it's cdkeys then

they are rubbish you get the same discounts that you get all year round. so there's no point waiting for one specific time. if you waitlist the games you want on isthereanydeal you can spot the keys you want for the price you'll get during the steam sale long before it happens anyway or perhaps just get it off g2a.

steam sales are totally redundant now. just overhyped back from when the sales used to mean something. when you could get 75% off a AAA game from the same year if you checked the sales every day.

now you get crap deals from the first day. and the people who could not be bothered to simply check the steam store once a day are the only people who defend it.
Edited by: "plath" 21st Oct

A big advantage of buying from Steam, for me, is that you can request a refund if you didn't like the game as long as you do so within 2 weeks and you've played the game for less than 2 hours. I've done this 2 or 3 times.

I'd recommend G2A - it's where I sell any spare bundle keys I've got that are worth anything substantial. If they're only worth pennies I'll give them away on SteamGifts. G2A will hold your funds for 2 weeks in case of any problems but then you can withdraw to Paypal, bank account, etc. Overall I find it a bit easier to use than Kinguin, just in terms of interface - and I got caught out with Kinguin because, as it turns out, you have to upgrade your account to a merchant account to be able to withdraw money, so I've got about £100 stuck in my account that I can only use to buy more games (which isn't too much of a problem...).

I would advise against selling keys on eBay - I used to do that, and it was fine for a while, but then I got targeted by scammers who bought games from me, used the keys and then filed Paypal chargeback claims to get their money back (so it was either someone doing it on purpose knowing they would get away with it, or someone who had managed to hack into someone else's Paypal account, so they didn't care either way). Normally what you would do in cases like this on eBay is to provide proof of postage to show that you had sent the item to the buyer's address and, even if the buyer's claim was successful, you would get to keep the money because Paypal would compensate for you. But as I was selling digital items, there was no proof that I had sent them that eBay/Paypal would accept, so I was forced to give refunds in every case - and not only that, but Paypal charge you something like £14 for every chargeback! I managed to argue away the chargeback fees with Paypal, but I was still out the cost of the games.
I know that's just my personal experience and it was a couple of years ago now, so I don't know if eBay has better support for the sale of digital items now, but I'd be very wary of trying to sell on there again. Of course the same thing does happen occasionally with G2A, but they've always got my back so I've never lost anything over it.

For me 10 is loads! 500 is another level.
Usually I find that if I craft badges during a sale that the drops are better and if the sale has cards that an extra 'sale card' will drop as a bonus .

Not true at all. Finding steam is now quite a bit cheaper than key sites even when the sales aren’t on. Strangely Uplay and Origin seem to be cheaper than key sites aswell.

On a slightly different note, Check allkeyshop.com, they compare all key trading websites (bar legit ones).

woohoo -90% on all the games I already own for 5 years, -10% on the stuff I care about.
Could be useful for that person planning to buy Half Life 2 finally
