Another price drop on this Nextbase 212G HD Dash Cam - it's dropped in price by £10 since last posted at the end of November.

  • 2.7inch LED screen.
  • Photo mode.
  • Night vision.
  • Loop recording.
  • G-force sensor.
  • Auto start with vehicle.
  • GPS.
  • Parking mode.
  • Compatible with microSDHC memory cards.

The Nextbase Dash Cam 212G offers high quality footage, recording in Full 1080p HD at 30fps. It uses the latest 6G glass lenses to provide a 140 degree viewing angle to capture both sides of the road whilst maintaining image clarity. It uses GPS to record accurate speed and location data and is one of Nextbases' first Dash Cams to come with the Click and Go Powered Magnetic Car Mounting system. The mount makes installation easy, just simply slide your Dash Cam onto the mount with the aid of inbuilt magnets and off you go!

Surely the actual footage would do the same thing?
And it's more the case of how an incident came about rather than pin pointing your lat/long.

When ALDI had these at £39 in November, they apparently didn't sell well and ended up being knocked out for £29.
They might still have some.

Looking back at previous posts, that seems to be the 212 version without GPS which is different - good offer though if you can grab one

I don't personally I'm just stating one of the differences between the different models

Because its the actual location. It all adds to the evidence. Just as a time stamp. The registration etc... Why have half the story when you can have the full story. Don't give anyone a chance to have an outer. That's all it is. Cover all bases.

Fair enough but to be honest I'd prefer one without GPS. Inaccurate speed data on a cheap unit with potentially bad software might do me more harm than good!
From the video, the location would be indisputable anyway.

Only useful thing from having GPS is perhaps for keeping the clock synced.

Each to their own but more features isn't necessarily better.

Wifey had the 212 Lite in her car before we sold it and replaced it with my 412, but I actually prefer the 212 for its functionality. Great price for this dashcam.

Agreed.. GPS may be self incriminating... "You were doing 32 in 30" etc
I love their bundled offer...

I'd be worried I was a mph or 2 over the limit or something and they'd invalidate my claim but each to their own. Thanks

What about using ones own mobile phone to take photos of post crash damage on site with GPS turned on? That should be more than sufficient with any witnesses around.

Yup. Of course. That would add to it as well. In any legal disputes, its always best to have too much evidence than not enough.

It would be pretty easy to calculate your speed based on lat/long and time.

Having said that I think this is a good deal and have no issue with my speed being recorded, as others have said it all adds to evidence.
Whilst I appreciate these are decent cameras, I have to question why they didn't employ someone to make it look a bit prettier.

It looks like one of those £10 digital camcorders that came out about 15 years ago that shot video in something like 240p and were always out of focus.

They'd have been better off making it a plain black box.
Good find, ordered. Thanks @millarcat

Equally you could prove you weren't exceeding the speed limit :-)
You can turn speed and gps off. I purchased this at same price three weeks ago
Does it have 1080p 60 FPS?
