Thanks..ordered..
anyone have one & care to leave an opinion on the model in question ?

Thanks
I ordered the nextbase 222 one. The only thing I can see diffrent is the 222 offers parking smart thing. Which I believe is something like this. U park the car go away and someone knocked into your front of car and the nextbase 222 will record it. Theres no mention of this on the 312. That's my opinion or view.

Yep your right. Just went to the nextbase website downloaded the manual.
It does indeed include park mode.
I think though this 312g is older model. Then the 222. But 312g says it has GPS logger. Where the 222 does not.

I have the 312GW which has been a good camera however it very occasionally does not power up automatically despite being hard wired. Picture and audio quality is good and the mount holds it nice and securely. This is a good deal for forty quid
Can i connect a rear camera to this?
Just to help the argument... The Hit whilst parked record doesn't work on any of the manufacturer / Camera I've found unless it's hardwired into the fusebox.
I know some people can do this. But for anyone who doesn't know or doesn't want to it makes this one the better option.

Thanks everyone for commenting.

From what I've understood from Youtube videos. It's upto both the cigarette lighter being live with ignition off and then the camera. None seem to say for definite in their own product description. You can check YouTube once you have a make and model and hope someones done a description or a "How to" hardwire video.
As soon as one seems good I just YouTube it.
So far I've definitely settled on Next Base as the manufacturer but I'm not sure what model/Price.

Hi Leather. Would you mind saying what car and camera Manufacturer you have. I'd like one I don't have to hardwire.

Hi mate, Skoda Vrs and this camera. It has worked well, but don't want it to be hit to test fully. Recirds in car parks etc. Fitted quickly, and I am no camera fitter.
I have one and it works well. The mount broke and nextbase sent one out a day or two later.
Bought, almost gone now

These first generation Nextbase dash-cams only the 512 had a compatible rear camera however the 2nd generation Nextbase dash-cams do have the options but there's nothing preventing you having a separate rear dash-cam so you have adequate cover front & rear.

The Nextbase Rear View Camera connects directly into your Nextbase Series 2 Dash Cam (322GW, 422GW & 522GW) to record the rear of your journey through the car with no wires needed. It uses a 30 telephoto lens to capture details of cars behind you, ensuring you are protected from tailgaters and rear end impacts. It is compatible with the following models: 322GW - 1080p front 720p rear 422GW/522GW 1080p front 1080p rear or 1440p front, 720p rear.

Model number: NBDVRS2RFCZ.

The Xiaomi 70mai Pro doesn't need a permanent power connection to record whilst parked.

I bought (and hard wired) the 412GW to my mum's car for her birthday. I ended up disabling the parking mode, because after some reading, it only records after the shunt. Makes sense I suppose (to conserve the car battery) but a lot of reviews said that by the time it woke up to record it'd be too late.

It also kept coming on, and creating write-protected files every time you opened or shut the car door, so the SD card would have filled up very quickly.

My cheap one I bought a few years ago, has a 'capacitor' power so will work for short periods without battery connection. Please don't tell me these expensive ones don't have that.
Just ordered two thanks

GPS is extremely important nowadays. My cousin got busted by police despite not speeding and saying they had video footage. Went to court, they had no footage and he had to prove his innocence, for which he was relying on the footage in court. Long story short, he got busted but reduced fine, etc.

Innocent till proven guilty goes right out the window!
I don't trust keeping gps on.
Police without camera might see you speeding and then confiscate the only evidence available, the ones from your dashcam!Busted with your own device.
I need one. Is this the best one to get at this price? What's the video quality like on it and is it easy to use?

There's also a 312gw. What's the difference? Is the only difference night vision?

Thanks

The W on the end means Wi-Fi. I've got the 412gw in my mams car and tempted to get this one as well for my car

Great price. Been eyeing up a dash cam for a long time now. This made the decision for me and a good brand at cheap Chinese prices.
V good price, ordered one

Thanks OP
Thanks OP, I've been looking for a 1080p dashcam for a while, this one is cheap enough and gets good feedback from everyone above so I've taken the plunge! Heat added (or it will be when I've finished writing this!)
Cheers to the OP, just bought one.
I have one front and back.
The back one an old one which I fitted a new battery to, and the front one a new one, but the new front one is a bit poor quality compared to my old one.
Looking forward to seeing how much better this is going to be....

I have found the app to be very flakey. Its easier to just download the videos to my pc from the card.
Bought 2 of these to update my old ones, thanks

Thanks - not sure why my original comment about looking forward to sending video evidence of people using mobile phones whilst driving, was deleted ... Are HUKD not interested in safety and law?
