  • The 312GW is the dash cam solution for new or experienced motorists who want instant upload capabilities to social media, or their insurer. Market leading thanks to its connective capabilities and ease of use, this new dawn for dash cams simply reinforces Nextbase's position as the most popular dash cam brand in the UK.
  • The device features inbuilt Wi-Fi, allowing you to download footage to a smartphone before easily sharing it with friends, family, an insurance firm or the police. After using the Wi-Fi to connect to an iOS or Android device, the Nextbase app becomes your personal mobile store for footage you want to keep and share.
  • Alongside this groundbreaking feature, the 312GW retains Nextbase's passion for quality and ease of use. With an all-new design, its ground-breaking Powered Magnetic Click&Go Mounting system is a good example of this. This new system uses magnets and powered touch points in the mount, allowing the dash cam itself to be free from wires, making instant removal and re-application of the device simple and quick - the ultimate in convenience.
  • The 312GW also features super fast GPS, allowing you to track you journey and pin point exactly where an incident happened and the speed it happened at - potentially critical in an insurance claim

Good price and if you’d prefer store collection Halfords will price match Amazon.
Excellent camera, wouldn't drive without one these days. Just don't wait until you have a crash before you decide to get one!

Not only crashes can really help with disputes on the road!
Hopefully better than their 408, which had an annoying habit of having it's miniscule LiPo battery (used to save the last few frames when you turn off the ignition) go pop.
Make sure you use a decent SD card, they don't like crappy cards...

I'd recommend buying this from Amazon so when the battery fails in a few months because of the suns heat in your cars windscreen the return will be lass stressful than dealing with Halfords.
Or even better don't buy this and get a dash cam with a Capacitor instead of a battery so it will last a lot longer.
If you google 'Nextbase battery fail' you'll soon learn about these.

Mines hardwired into the car....

It doesn't matter if it's hardwired into the car, It still uses the internal battery to finalise and save the last recording after you switch the ignition off.
If you have wired it so that it's permanently powered on 24hrs even when the car is switched off then it will be a fire risk because the internal Li-po battery may catch fire.
As I said before search google for info on Li-po dash cam batteries, I now have 3 dash cams all with Capacitors after having 2 cameras die on me with overheated and expanding battery problems.

Isn't the battery issue only affecting the 402G model ?
I’m seeing £96.95
Strongly considdering a dash cam given some very scary footage I've seen with people throwing them selves at cars for payouts
Is this a good one?

When I was researching dash cameras the A119 got very favourable reviews. Goes for around ~£70.

I have a A119 and it's been superb.
My other cameras in the family cars are the tiny almost invisible Mobius all fitted with Capacitors like the A119

Was poised to get and A119 but this Nextbase one seems a good deal as well. Any steer from someone that knows about these things would be appreciated.

The A119 with GPS was coming in about £70 shipped from China but can’t find it at that price closer to home.

£79 from Amazon but why on earth would you want gps? Think about it your travelling at 34mph in a 30 zone and some tit hits you and it's their fault.
You send the evidence to their insurance company and also give them an excuse to blame you because you were speeding.

GPS is purely for location. It can do speed via GPS but you can turn it off. And also turn off audio too.

I fitted two 512GW on Sunday, hardwired, first one took 45mins, second 15mins.
Should have read the instructions first time!

Wouldn't they be able to measure between two fixed markers such as markings compared to time to establish speed?

They could I suppose if you appeared to be really driving crazy but I highly doubt they would if your video showed you driving with the flow of other traffic that nowadays seems to always be 5 or 10 mph over the legal limit.

Just double checked, I have the 512GW

If I was doing 34 in a 30 MPH area and involved in a crash, I wouldn't be sending my video to anyone.
Great price, I have the 412GW which I got for £99 from Argos. Great dash cam. I have hardwired mine so it turns on with the ignition. I have seen some ridiculous insurance scam videos on YouTube. Dash cam is a blessing when you get into a situation like that. Later on, I will be planning to buy another which I will mount to the rear. Also, If you want to hard wire your cam, you can buy the kit from eBay for £11, took less than 45 mins to do it, this way, you don't have dangling wires. Heat.

Was thinking the same. Only send in evidence to support whatever claim/ dispute- dont incrimate yourself doh! And even if in the wrong, and someone sees youve got a dash cam, refuse to give them it if they ask you. Common sense.
They had this offer back in November together with it being out of stock. It never came back in stock
