Really good quality. This one even does a good job of recording my dogging on the car bonet at night. Heat added.

Yeah good deal, thanks

Great price but the memory card was £20 extra

I went for the 312 package from Halfords which was a lower spec model but does the job very wel

There was a code (CCT30) for 30% off most cams on Nexrbase site, 512GW worked out as £105.

I tried that code the other day but it looks like it has expired

probably better off with the Nextbase 412GW which can be had for just over £100 - £108.95 Amazon but 3rd party seller fulfilled by Amazon

Great deal!

Great deal. Always makes me laugh when people who are spending £40k + on a car are then willing to risk buying some unbranded untested Chinese tat instead of something quality like this just to save £50!

But they are probably not spending £40K+ on a car, they more likely took a PCP deal that is using all their monthly disposable income.

Anyway, the 412GW for example - a camera that I use. Not too bad, but slightly annoying because it keeps switching on at the merest touch when not required, the internal battery becomes useless very quickly and the suction mount broke. Nextbase did replace the suction mount very quickly when I emailed them about it.

All made in China anyways, western company makes are better, as they have better made products from China

Shame it wasn't the magnetic version or I would of dealt up.Dont think those worth the £99 now.

And do 1080 in 60fps (still only 30fps in 1440) but after looking at videos online, IMO the 60 frames per second make it easier to see number plates.

This * 100 in my opinion

It's a good price though
Edited by: "WeBlah" 28th Nov

I think the 512gw is the top rated one by Which. I got one from an established seller on ebay last week (£120) but the seller has increased the price by a tenner now but worth keeping your eye on ebay

this is not the GW model it is the G model so not the deal everyone thinks

Do they do stuff on the side for Tomy ?I'd want a discrete dash cam as much as possibe plus I don't have special needs ( No offence to anyone who does) so this kiddie brand is a no from me. If this kind of tech is becoming so essential also why the hell aren't car manufacturer integrating or provding optional to infocentre as most cars have front / rear cams etc. Oh well I just brought on Orwellian big brother further, like Nextbase plans to build a deathstar once they have taken to task the middle lane drivers.

Usually If you have to say "no offence" after a statement it is too late. You are George Integrity Whitebread and I claim my 5 pounds.

Quality of one's car badge is more important than quality of food to many people in the UK.

Say you see some idiot biker driving like a twunt cutting you up, do any of these have a button that saves say the previous 30 seconds video as a file?

Or do you have to go manually trawling through all the footage?

Yeah the warning triangle button protects the currently recorded segment of footage from being deleted.

it works on idiot car drivers too, go figure

These aren’t quality cams by a long shot. I test dashcams and if they were serious about quality why do they insist of putting a battery in them instead of a capacitor?! I would never buy a dashcam with a battery. They don’t handle heat well, particularly in the summer. All the top end dash cam manufacturers use capacitors, there’s a reason why.

Well it will do cos @60fps you’ve got twice as many frames to try and catch a number plate

Old model, definitely wouldn’t get that one. Better off with a 412GW

Can I use a full size SD card with this?

Wait, so what's your recommendation then?

Depends what budget you have? The dash cam market is an absolute minefield

My thirty quid dash cam seems to do whatever this one does.

these things are so poorly made how they have the cheek to charge this sort of money is almost shocking.

the other thing is nextbase support is a joke they even give false advise about which memory cards to use (should use endurance ones only)

Why do you want discrete? My visible Nextbase has saved me twice from the advances of a road raging numpty who was looking to kick my car/head in; one quick point to the camera and their bravado evaporates like logic in a Brexit discussion.

Yeah and they’re not biased are they? If they did a proper comparison and researched the whole market then they’d have very different results

What's the battery life like on these as can't be doing with wires dangling down from the mirror
