Good deal. But I wait for the new 612gw

What's the difference?

The main difference between the 512gw and the new 612gw is the 512 offers 1440p ( 2k resolution ) the 612 has 2160p ( 4k resolution ) the picture quality is far better, for a more in depth review and the other features check this...

If only my eyes were good enough to see the difference between 2k and 4k on a dashcam screen. I can just make out the pixels on my 10" tablet using a jewellers eye glass lol

Worth noting the 612gw doesn’t support a rear crop but the 512gw does.

Connectable rear cam is due at end of year for around £60-70 according to Nextbase live chat people.

612gw will chew through memory cards but 4K means you should be able to zoom in close to number plates and they’ll still look amazing. Expensive though.

I got the impression from nextbase live chat support that £109 price for this is likely to become the normal when the 612gw comes out. Didn’t say it explicitly but a hint was there. They knew Amazon’s price and that they hadn’t yet received their stock at that price.

This supports an additional rear cam due at end of year for around £60-70 according to nextbase live chat.

I have the nextbase 412g. I bought it from a local auction for £28.00 as a new return. I guess it originated from Argos and was returned because of a corrupt memory card. Put a new card in it and it works well. A bit of a bargain but not sure I would be paying the full asking price for one of these.
