Simple, fast Plug & Play solution

Description

Nextbases car camera hard wire kit is a simple plug & play solution to hardwire any Nextbase in-car cam in to your car and no longer require a car cigarette lighter socket. Even better is that it can be installed in less than a minute and requires little to no electrical expertise.

The kit contains everything required to quickly piggyback from a fuse box that uses ATO/C or the smaller ATM fuses, which covers most vehicles.

Simply remove a fuse from the fuse box, plug the required fuse "tap" cable supplied in the kit in to the vehicles fuse box and plug the displaced fuse in to the top of the fuse tap cable. The car camera now has its own power supply and no longer requires connection to the car cigarette lighter socket. Now simply hide the included 4m car camera power cable, using your car interior trim, to the point of installation of your Nextbase car cam.

Using the hard wire kit the in car camera will power on and start to record automatically when the vehicle starts.

Compatible with 12-24V DC cars, vans and trucks

You may receive a Series 2 Hardwire Kit, please note that the Series 2 Hardwire Kit is suitable for BOTH Series 1 and 2 Nextbase Dash Cams.

Looks like it ends in a USB mini-b plug, which might mean you can use it even if you change dashcams... tempted! I mean, of course you'll need an adaptor if your new cam is micro-usb or usb-c.

Could any Nextbase buyers confirm their kit uses USB mini to charge?
Yup. Banging. I have this. Installed in an hour I think, but I'm a noob.

Was it an authorised dealer like this seller? My one from this seller was a genuine Nextbase product.

Yes I can use same charger in Nextbase 512g & Eprance G1W.
Only few pounds on Ebay and just as good had mine installed for about 3 years now with no issues
Buy a 3 wire kit if you have invested in a dashcam that has park mode, otherwise this one will only run the dashcam when the ignition is on.

I was going to post that too - these things are mass produced and probably in the same factory - so you are just paying for the brand. Given that my car is a Zafira and may spontaneously combust on it's own I would have not qualms with fitting the cheaper version (In fact I did buy the cheap one back when I had a Scenic and never got round to fitting it).
Note that battery based dash cams tend to suffer from "battery swell", if you are going to power one permanently it might be an idea to invest in a capacitor based model instead...

I actually have 3 dash cams - they are all in my "man drawer" beside my AA battery collection. I had grand ideas about wiring the car with USB sockets and ended up buying the kids external battery banks instead - they proved a better solution for me (and the kids) as they use them to power everything from lights to Xbox controllers!
This seller also has the 522GW dashcam for £118.95, which is about 20% off the usual selling price of £150 at most other sellers.

Isn`t that the model to avoid?

Isn`t that the model to avoid?

Based on what review? The 522 is a 422 with a polarising filter ready fitted, so is the 422 also the model to avoid? Most reviews rate the 522 as their best yet. Could you be thinking about the first gen models, e.g. 512?

Think it’s the 612 I’ve been reading about
This is a simple DC to DC converter. Save your self some money and buy one unbranded for a third of the price.
