I had a keyword save for John Lewis who have reduced their Nextbase dash cams by 20%.

The model I want it out of stock but it prompted me to check Halfords, Argos and Currys. They all have most of the models discounted.

512GW is £119
412GW is £103
Duo is £159

John Lewis give a 2 year guarantee but stock is low online, might be better in store.

Not for everyone but if you are in the market for the Which best buy it may be a good time to purchase. I also bought the hardwire kit for £11.95 and a case for £4.95 on eBay from their authorised reseller.

i looked at the nextbase models recently when in Currys to see what they were like and preferred the 212 for the smaller size and the fact it doesn't have gps, so don't have to worry about going a couple of mph over the speed limit.

What's more Maplin have it at £55.20, and Halfords were price matching, and Currys price match Halfords so got it in Currys for the same price.

I didn't bother with a case, but did get the hardwire kit, and a set of trim removal tools for a couple of quid...... took me just under 30mins to install which included removing the side panel to the fusebox and putting it back again, and all wires hidden. (fusebox in the seat leon is behind the glovebox of all places and not where it says it is in the manual)

Anyhow, my first dashcam and very impressed to ease of setup and installation, do like the parking mode.

You can turn off the speed display on the dash cam.

Still for 50 notes cheaper the 212 works very well for my needs.
Or you could buy a much better camera from Amazon for almost half the price that will not die of a faulty inflated battery in 13 months time (or even sooner if we get a hot summer)
The Viofo A119 or ddpai mini both have capacitors that will outlive any battery powered dash cam and they cost almost half the price of the Nextbase.
Also check out the Blueskysea B1W that is currently sold out on Amazon but stock is apparently on it's way.
All three mentioned cameras have excellent reviews on youtube.
You can get these nextbase cameras much cheaper on ebay brand new at the moment. Bought the bike one for £104

The 412 came back into stock again today at JL, so I bought it there and will take the Argos one I bought back. 2year warranty is better than Amazon and eBay.

You can turn off the speed recording (it defaults to off anyway). If you buy Halfords' fitting service at £30, you get the hardwire kit included, so it makes the fitting £10. Seems quite simple to fit but for £10 someone else gets the scuffed knuckles
