Nexus 5 16GB £255.00 @ Amazon Spain

Long time lurker, first time posting of a deal.

Amazon Spain are selling the N5 for €313 delivered to the UK. That works out at about £255 according to Xe.com.

I've been looking for the N5 for ages and this is the cheapest I've seen for a new one.

Nice deal, thanks

Good find and good price. You might find that it's sent from the UK. I've ordered from Amazon.de and Amazon.it in the past and they've been sent from within the UK. You can't select free super saver delivery, but postage isn't too expensive. You'll still save buying some items from their foreign site instead of the UK site.

Sweeeeeeeet!! .. Spain ( + most of Europe & the U.S.) will come with that standard arkward 2 Pin Electric Plug too right? .. why oh whyyyyyyyyyy ..... lol. :-)

Heat added OP. :-)

Don't assume this will come from within UK and any returns must be sent back to Spain in this situation.

Hot price.

Yes don't assume, but I have bought numerous items from the German Amazon and they all got sent out from UK warehouses.

I translated the page and if you scroll down to the product description in the first line it says "It is just a 5 inch phone." LOL, what a dull way of putting it.

Hi this is ChampionshipManager from Hot UK Deals dot com.

This is only 20 bones cheaper in the US Amazon, which makes this a Hot UK Deal.

Hot.

Just be aware that £255 is at the actual exchange rate - you are unlikely to be able to get it for that price as banks don't tend to give quite as good a rate and often charge a transaction fee. If you use the Amazon currency converter to pay in GBP (not really recommended without checking the rates your bank gives/charges), you end up paying £265. Either way it's still a decent price but not exceptional (IMO) given that you'll then have to shell out for a UK charger/adapter.

Great price and great phone (have red one myself) have some heat

Great deal. I live in Switzerland so I can get the VAT back and pay import charges up front and it works out to £240!

You have it cheaper in pccomponentes.com but i don't know how much they charge to deliver it to UK

Absolutely right, many card firms give bad rates and charge a fee, though some don't. I've a Santander Zero credit card and there was a Post Office card that gives you the actual rate. Both are unavailable now (Santander zero is now different) but good if you have one.

If you were to buy this having exchanged your pounds into Euros at the Post Office (which is, realistically, one of the best rates us normal people will get) this will cost roughly £265.

As you'll be doing it on a card, there will be other fees involved, so I would imagine the phone will then cost in the region of £270. Add the fact that you get a non-uk charger with it (not a biggie, but it's still not ideal) and it becomes less of a deal for me, especially when the normal price from Amazon is £282 and from there you'll definitely have UK warranty and be able to return it easily if it's duff.

Neither cold, nor hot, for me.

£249 - here

With a Halifax Clarity/Santander Zero type card you get the rate quoted on xe.com with no loading. The non-UK charger is almost irrelevant as it charges off micro-usb and most people have got one of those chargers kicking about now.

Fair point, but it's still little compromises you've got to make at the price and also be in possession of the correct type of bank card. If you are happy with all that, then it's a deal for those without, then there's a bit more thinking to do as to whether it's a definite or not.

Try this for the 2 pin plug :

Saves having to chop the plug off and added bonus is that you can then use the charger in Europe

It is "dull" way your translating engine works, you never translate word to word, but sense of the sentence.

With this deal stil available, which works out to £269.99 with the Quidco - I am not sure why anyone would want to mess about with this deal when you don't know the exact price you will pay and it could be posted from BongoBongo land with a BongoBongo land charger.

if you use a Halifax clarity credit card to pay there are no charges and you get the visa international exchange rate

http://www.visaeurope.com/en/cardholders/exchange_rates.aspx

Find out your card commission from your bank, or use MSE cards section.

Most credit/debit cards charge somewhere around 3%. Nationwide current account is 2%, but obviously won't have the protection credit cards offer.

I have had this phone now for two months, very good, apart from the the battery, and that is a big negative for me. Be prepared to carry a charger in your bag. I have attempted to minimise apps in background et al, but, problem still persists, so please be aware..

Hmm I linked it to a place selling for £249 and the link got eaten. What gives?
*edit* Never mind - I'll presume the supplier sucks; they've got no address on their site. Screw that.

Hang on... Just remembered. These guys have been going for a few years and always been totally and utterly awful... I recall threads a few years ago about how they were basically a load of skank-merchants operating out of Hong Kong or something. D'oh.

The exact price you pay is €323, maybe a little less or more depending what country you ship to or what credit card you use.

And Spain is hardly "Bongobongo land" now, is it? (_;)

Ouch! I know it's a bit off topic, but couldn't resist replying to this. Post Office exchange rates are mediocre at best, often downright awful. Credit to their marketing department though, as they seem to have convinced people they are a good option. Even the Canary Wharf branch often has a queue of people exchanging money, despite the fact that there's a far better exchange kiosk just across the road.

If you're going abroad your best bet is to get a fee-free card and use it when you get there; if you must take cash and there aren't any competitive places locally, you can get cash by mail order at good rates.

Agree with everything, except that almost everybody has a charger with a Nexus/Samsung port on it these days. I use the same device to charge my Wifi Dongle, Tab 3, Nexus, S3 Mini and Galaxy Win.

You must have a long queue of devices waiting to be charged or are incredibly fastidious when it comes to low battery charging. I have 3 cables placed in various ports of call; office / home / car. Can always do with another if only to provide to the kids to stop mine going missing
