Cold because it's £429.99 if you buy from O2 on their Refresh offer - choose the option for upfront cost of £69.99, ask for phone to be unlocked, then immediately pay off the £15/month x 24 months (£360) and cancel airtime contract. You've got your Nexus 6 for a lot cheaper!

Cheaper if you go for £49.99 upfront offer - works out at £409.99

Also this comes unlocked if you buy on PAYG from O2, which is cheaper than this.

Indeed! Good spot, even better and makes this even colder!

these 02 deals only work out cheaper if you want the o2 airtime that comes with them, because you have to pay both the phone and airtime costs for the contract period

the 49.99 upfront deal is £15pm x 24months for the phone, and £28 x 24m for the airtime = £1081.99
the 69.99 upfront deal is £15pm x 24months for the phone and £18 x 24m for the airtime = £861.99

so if you want the phone and then get a cheaper sim only monthly or payg tariff then this Tesco deal is much better......

Uh, no...

you can pay off the phone cost early but you are still tied into the airtime contract that goes along with it.

So if you want to be on o2 for 24 months it is 'cheaper' but f you want a shorter monthly or payg deal its not.

YOU CANCEL THE AIRTIME CONTRACT WHEN YOU GET THE PHONE oO

YOU CANCEL THE AIRTIME CONTRACT WHEN YOU GET THE PHONE oO

if you can cancel the contract just like that then I stand(or sit) humbly corrected!!

Read this and then do a search for refresh

I have seen on here before that it is possible to get phones very cheap using the O2 refresh tariff because it is split into an airtime plan and a phone plan.

Am I correct in thinking that you can get a phone using the O2 refresh tariff and immediately after receiving the phone you can pay for the phone part of the contract and then cancel the airtime part of the contract?

For example, if I wanted to get a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S5, would I only have to pay the phone contract price (£29.99 upfront and 24x£10=£240 - £240+£29.99=£269.99) and then cancel the airtime plan or am I missing something because that seems very cheap? CORRECT
