I think nexus releases are usually October so not imminent.

I have this phone and it is the best mobile I have ever owned, love it.

said who?

Looks like a good deal. I think a nexus will replace my iPhone 5s when the new one comes out. The only thing with this phone is that's is a bit too big,the 5x is more my size. Heat tho

The earliest date a nexus phone line has been announced is 25th September, so next one is likely still to be 4 months. They will not be clearing stock yet.

Must stay strong.... Must stay strong....

My Galaxy S5 is still going well.

Anyone know of cheap way to unlock the 6p? Most of the cheap ebay ones don't seem to support the Nexus 6p model

Google really need to release android one style devices in the west e.g. cost less than 100/200 quid. fed up with manufactures taking ages to release updates, rather get updates direct from google

It will be out by then.....

Already one year old with snapdragon 810 . Waiting for this year's Nexus or One plus with snapdragon 820 and 6gb ram at the same price.

Same here. The only thing that would make this perfect would have been better image stabilization for the camera, maybe hardware (OIS) instead of the software doing the work. Other than that the phone is absolutely amazing, a joy to use.

I have had one since launch. Nice phone, but to be honest if I were starting again I'd go sim free and buy a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro or similar for half the price

You should let one of the high profile tech sites know that you have a source they don't. You could get some serious $$$.

Unless of course you just made that statement up with no proof whatsoever, but who would even do that?

Fantastic phone

this or Sony Z5?

no it's not, unless you don't want a 6" screen

good phone though its size did slightly wear on me... got a 5.5 now and it feels so comfy

I bought a Nexus 6 around the same time last year. It's fine for 6 months but then towards this time of year you are wishing you'd waited and not bought a year old model. I'll wait and see what the new models have to offer

Duplicate of a deal posted last week.

Don't really understand why this hasn't been removed yet? If I've posted a duplicate deal in the past its been removed in minutes

This phone looks great, and has an amazing camera, but the 810 has a rep for overheating, bad enough to warrant waiting until 820 phones start to be released.
If you want an 810 based handset, the oneplus 2 is only £249 for the 64gb model (supposedly with a revised 810 chipset less prone to overheating/throttling).

It's Sunday. Football's on. Mods will get around to it soon.

It seems that they fixed the overheating issue for the 6p as some review sites have run thermal tests and found it's completely normal. The big question is, what do the new chipsets bring? We have hit diminishing returns and it's been shown on the Galaxy s7, HTC 10 etc that s820, though great performing, doesn't really improve battery life. What will do with that extra CPU and GPU power? Sweet f all unless you dock it and use it as a desktop device.

According to this techradar.com/rev…w/3
the chipset is the revised snapdragon 2.1 .. but it's still twice the price of a Oneplus 2.
Having over 4gb of RAM is overkill imo, especially as some of the high end android handsets still manage to have lag.

Interesting details here:
trustedreviews.com/opi…810
Specifically, that octacore is unecessary for Android apps at this stage:
"“The most important thing to have is peak single-threaded performance, as most of the time only one or two cores are active." He added, “When most phones are playing games, web browsing, or just word processing, usually only 1.5 cores are active at any one time”.

Indeed, although the 820 has stronger single thread performance, it doesn't really translate to much as the 810 is pretty powerful already. It's nice to have newer tech but it doesn't mean the older gen is obsolete already.

You can get a LG g5 for this price (create a new account with Very). While the G5 is far from perfect, it's higher spec, and a more comfortable 5.3 inch. Unless stock android is a huge thing for you, the LG is more future proof. Not as good as an S7, but a good £150 cheaper

What I'm talking from that is that octacore is basically marketing nonsense at this stage.
There are a lot of other improvements in the new 820. Personally, I'm happy to sit out the 810.

I understand, the number of cores is a misnomer just as megapixels for cameras on their performance. I just think that the benefits aren't as amazing as one would think because the 810 was already pretty powerful. The overheating was the main point of contention and given that it doesn't help much with battery life, what are other benefits are there for the average consumer except bigger benchmark numbers?

this or Sony Z5?

Specs of both compared here

I've also included the new OnePlus 3 (with aluminium body), that's expected to be released today - apparently the 6+64Gb version is going to be sold at ~£300.

Compare actual sizes here, after calibrating with a phone you already own - the OP3 will lie somewhere in between the 6P & Z5 I think.
