With Marshmallow loaded it's got a new lease of life. Battery life is better than ever. UI is smooth as silk. A great every day workhorse for me as a web browser, ereader and casual games machine. Standby for me got to 11 days for me over Christmas from full charge to 20%.
2+ years on and still very very useable
Has it got a camera ?

age is just a number with this tablet. it has the latest adroid marshmallow and it is flawless. I bought samsung tab 4 before on kitkat 4.4 and returned straight away as it was very slow
Great device but 16GB is such a struggle
System takes up a chunk
Is the 2013 one the last version they made as it seems a little much if not (sorry I know there were 2 versions, but forget the dates).

I've got 2nd Gen 2024. Great thing about Google 's own devices is that you get the latest update before anyone else . ive just updated to Marshmellow on 2014 Model whereas im still on 5.1 on my Samsung Note 4. Generally accepted Nexus 2013/14 dtill about best 7" tablet around. if you can't pick up a 2014 version get this and you won't be dusappointed

So you've used up about 1GB of storage? Probably not the best case scenario
I used 4gb including system apps and it is 16gb total.
Heat added as this is a great tablet, mine still looks and works like new, but has been this price at Argos for a while and has occasionally dropped to £99 in the last few months so may be worth waiting a little while for it to drop again.

And for those who say the nexus 7 is no good because it's 'old', I've had other newer tablets which worked great out of the box but were all soon lagging behind this once they'd been used for a couple of months.
I bought it for £96 last month at Argos. At £109 it is overpriced. Price will go down because it won't receive major updates this year. The last update drains my battery too fast. Otherwise it's a very good tablet. I use it everyday and I only use a PC at work.
great tablet
my 3 year old nexus is so slow, seemed to get worse after installing kit Kat. I have removed everything on It I don't really use..still slow.., rebooted, etc, still not very good....,if since bought a samsung 9.6, ...very smooth £112... But it would be nice to get the nexus back to how it was.....,

update it to the latest 6.0 marshmallow much faster
This has been cheaper quite a few times in Argos and defo will be reduced again in the next few weeks.
been this price for a while

got mine for 79 @ asda and thought was good until i had to return it for touchscreen issues (which seen fairly common)

Concentrate on the clear cache bit- it speeds up my Nexus very well.

I got one of two new 32gb Nexus 7s for 129 on the ebay outlet a couple of days ago and they went in an hour so I'm assuming this is a decent price.

People who keep saying they'll wait for the price to drop need to be careful. It may do, but on the other hand they're not being made anymore and at some point they really will be sold out. The 2016 version is rumoured to be out in May so I suspect if retailers have any inside info they'll be getting them out now.

If you're not that bothered either way then wait, but if you really want a new one and wait too long you might find you've been too clever for your own good.
