Terrible paper !

Editor

Shouldn't price be £173.46?

Looks like it is the new nexus as it weights under 300gms. Seems like a great deal. You don't have to read the paper!!

Original Poster

Who cares if it's a **** paper? you don't have to read it.

Minimum 12 month subscription. So you can cancel making the price correct.

Horrible paper but amazing deal.

The Sun; a truly vile newspaper written by vile people. By all means get a Nexus but buy it from anyone but them. Cold!

Original Poster

But you can't find it anywhere near as cheap... especially for 32GB.

If you hate the paper that much.. 'buy' the tablet and don't read it. Thus ripping them off...

Thank you lol

Why is this cold? It should be hot, However I could imagine some people will forget about their subscriptions and the sun will make some money that way. Also they can say they have so many subscribers, which mean they will generate more money through advertisements.

Good price, you don't have to read it, just don't forget to cancel after 12 months

heard from tim the representative of the sun on says its the 2013 version takes two three weeks to del

amazing deal. thanks

Apologies, Read the webpage completely wrong.

Heat from me.

I'd rather boil my head than subscribe to that waste of my time B.S paper and I'd pay twice the cost if it meant they shut down

Scum paper and that above doesn't make sense.

Do they take out the second payment all in one go like the first if you forget to cancel.

Look at it another way, you're swindling the paper out of 150 quid by not renewing after a year, what hater wouldn't want to do that to the Sun? X)

And you don't HAVE to read it.

Heat from me.

Yes, the OP avoided telling people that. In the OPs defence, it's not been made very clear in the t&cs which are all over the place. Typical of a scum rag.

You can cancel within 14 days and get a full refund - doesn't say anything about returning the 'complimentary Asus Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi tablet'. If you wish to cancel after 14 days, it seems like you can only do it via webchat on one exact date - 'If you wish to cancel after the first 14 days of your Sun+ membership, you will not be entitled to a refund and will only be able to cancel by contacting our Customer Care team via our Live Chat service at thesun.co.uk/chat, 15 days before the end your minimum 12 month Sun+ membership.'

Surely its £86.70 providing that they deliver the 32gb Nexus 2013 tablet within 2-3 weeks and you cancel so you dont get charged the monthly fee. Am I missing something? Amazing deal.

It says about defaulting on payment but how can you if they take the first years upfront, couldnt you just cancel after a few months.

It would appear from the t&c's that you can or can't cancel at any time, in fact it appears you must contact them 15 days before your minimum 12 month period.

Scum rag and t&c's that make no sense at all.

Still not clear for me.. on point 9.4 it says you can only cancel "15 days before the end your minimum 12 month Sun+ membership"

This sounds like a great deal.
Just remember to cancel b4 they charge you next years sub and you get a Nexus 7 32gb for a blinding price.
and £5 quidco too!

Scorching hot!

Dont vote cold because dont like the paper ( in fact doing this deal your actually making money from them)

Basically, you have to pay £86.70 up-front and then you have a 14 day cooling off period during which you can cancel and get a refund. The Nexus isn't sent out until after this date, so you are then committed to the first 12 months if you haven't cancelled in the cooling off period. If you then want to cancel before the second year's membership, you must do it using their online chat, exactly 15 days before the renewal date. It reminds me of those schemes a few years ago where you could buy a kitchen and get 100% refund, provided you had all the correct paperwork and sent it off on the exact right date in 5 years time. Bit dodgy, but if you set yourself a few reminders to make sure your cancel on the correct date, it looks like you can get a 32Gb Nexus 7 for £86.70 - and a free 12 month subscription to the paper.

Am I getting this correct. It is £86.70 for 1st year. You can cancel after 1 year, if not it is £7.23 monthly for the 2nd year?

That is how I first saw it.

For all the fools set an alarm for 27th May, either that or report your credit card stolen.

Is it the new nexus 7

Matthaus

Not quite, the second year is a minimum of 12 months too.

The one handed operation is further aided by a drop in weight for the Nexus 7, down from 340g to a delicate 290g on the new version

techradar.com/new…943

It has to be the new one as it states under 300g in their blurb, it's just a shame it's a scum rag that I would never have anything to do with.

will you also have access to Sun Perks?.. like there was £10 voucher for RSH for Sun+ customers?

Right, I've pulled the trigger!

This is the text from the order confirmation screen: -

· Payment method: PayPal
· Your first payment of £86.67 will be taken on or around 11th June 2014.
· At the end of your 12 month Sun+ membership, you will be billed for the next 12 months on or around 11th June 2015, unless cancelled. We will send you a reminder closer to the time.
· The name that will appear on your bank statement is: Sun+ membership.

So, they will send a reminder, but I bet it's after the 15 day deadline to cancel

Now, I am off to create alarms on every phone, computer and tablet I own

You get everything included with a Sun+ subscription. I can't imagine I will ever read the paper, but some of the offers might be of interest - like 2 for 1 at the Odeon.

I just had a chat with Tim on livechat to get a bit more info:

Thank you

My pleasure. The gobbledegook T&Cs take a bit of unravelling, but it's worth the effort for a 32Gb Nexus 7 for £86.70. I should be able to get somewhere near that for my 2012 16Gb model on Gumtree, so it's like a free upgrade

Thanks for the original post, it's a shame so many are voting cold because they hate the newspaper.

Anyone tried via Quidco for an extra £5 off? I can't find the nexus offer via them only the £1 offer.
