not much: different screen, different cpu, different gpu. oh wait...

guess they don't do the offer of buy 2 or more for 10% off like last time. I got that deal, and I like the tablet

Yes, it's actually quite good to read one, not as good as a Kindle though.

Was in cpw in town yesterday, it said £129 and when I asked at the counter the lady said its for the 32gb version.

Easily big enough yes, a Kindle is smaller. A Kindle is made just for reading though and the screen is less reflective. However, I use my Nexus 7 for reading with no problems. I use Cool Reader, it's a free app and the best imo.

Its called 'human error'

Both Argos and Tesco regularly have these refurbs listed at £119.
Got a couple when they £103.49 each.

Be warned, if you receive one you're not happy with i.e. scratched, no box, no charger etc. You have to pay the return postage.

I've ordered 3 now from Argos, 1st one mint condition with tatty box. 2nd, good condition with tatty box but no charger. 3rd returned as it had a couple of scratches on the screen, no charger and came bubble wrapped in a plain brown box.

I ordered via Argos Ebay got a Managers special complete with all accessories, box was in brilliant condition. paid £103.49. Excellent piece of kit, daughter loves it!!

does it have SD card?

Hmmm
This or the new Tesco tab.................

Of course the 4.3 version of Android (which improves performance) is available for this too.

No friking s**t Sherlock I've already seen that before you posted it, the display said was £149 now £129 in the store, unless I'm missing something the 16gb isn't the one that was £149

Its called looking on the PC, unless she's so inept she couldn't read what the system was telling her.

New model is far better than this , but at this price you can't go wrong !!!!!! It's like a lottery , you might just get a return in perfect order or you might get a return with scratches on it .
Buy a new unit for £20 more or buy the new model which has far better screen , quicker processor , better camera , more responsive screen .

What is the best case for this to use?

I was lucky enough to get the Argos misprice when it was on, (32GB 3G for £159.99). It's a great tablet. This is a good price.

I am really tempted by the Nexus 10 - you get more pixel per buck than with any other tablet. Has anybody seen a good deal on it?

Nope but it is being replaced soon..

buying refurb from argos is truly like a lottery.

I too am waiting for nexus 10 to drop in price soon as new one is coming.

Id get a silicon one from Amazon. They have one for £7.50 and £15 that look ok.

What lottery offers you a full refund if you 'lose' ?

good deal but still better off spending the extra on the new one.

good price; looking at this or the one from Tesco which seems to have slightly better specs (quality of build remains to be seen) and the Tesco one has a micro SD/SD slot. So far I favor the Tesco one but am I missing something?

Any decent roms?

Being using this for 3 weeks and I cant see how any of these 'improvements' would even be noticeable to me. I am a non-geek that most be noted.

The new 32gb wont get close to this price.

can anyone comment on the refurbished quality from Argos?

I've had 3 of these since they were first released. If you buy one, expect its performance to start slowing down and being generally laggy after a few weeks use. The latest jelly bean update was supposed to fix the problem, but hasn't.

Some are fine, some report scratches.

Mine was fine, the charger was the reason it was returned.

This may be a silly question but can I use an argos gift card/voucher on their eBay outlet?

hmm i dont think so

That's not true, it has fixed the issue but only runs the FSTRIM command on data written since the update, so format the drive, root it and run LagFixFree from the store to force trim on all LBAs. Then run it from fresh.

The trim will only run once it has 30% battery or above and plugged in or 80% battery. It has to have been idling for over an hour.

If you can put up with the hassle...of sending it back/ waiting for it to be collected...time to waste...be my guest

You didn't answer the question. The point remains, if you are not entirely satisfied, you are free to take back the item and receive a full refund. Like tfish, I see no 'lottery' in that.

The lottery element is getting a working refurb from Argos. A large majority of Argos computer/ tablet refurbs tend to be faulty on arrival. if you have no problems with them, then fair enough. Some ppl will agree with me and some wont. just voicing my opinion as I have experienced this when buying refurbs from them and then trying to send the item back.
