The Nexus Metal range of 13A plug sockets from BG come with two handy "Type A" USB charger sockets and gives switched protection. It has a slim design with softly rounded corners and a quality finish to compliment any interior décor. They have no visible plastic around the plug socket itself and come with colour matched screws.

The NBS22UG is capable of charging iPad, iPhone, tablets, mobiles, cameras and more with a USB output of 5V ... 3.1A (shared across the two ports). It is designed for use with Apple approved leads and may not work as effectively with other types of lead. It is suitable for retrofitting into existing plug sockets (it is supplied with optional 10mm spacer for 25mm backing boxes). The socket has a light lacquer coating for durability and to limit finger print marks and is finished in brushed steel with co-ordinating grey plug inserts.

Part of the BG Nexus Metal Range a full range of matching products are available. 25 Year Manufacturer Guarantee.

I’d avoid like the plague. No british standard in the description. The potential fire hazards aren’t worth it. BG are to British standard and made to a lot higher standard than some guy in a sweat shop.
Bought one of these and works fine. Till date no issues. Thinking of getting another. 3.1mAmps usb sockets. I know the 4.2mAmps ones atre out there but much more expensive
Whole kitchen done out in these been nearly 12months no problems all working as they should
Does this have intelligent charging? Can it detect device type and output correct amps?

This is my fear/distrust with getting usb integrated plug sockets. I feel like at least with a regular usb charging plug theres a fuse within etc and that these integrated ones will just blast full throttle. Supposedly they all have chips that can read and provide the correct amount of juice though.

Cheers, thought that might be the case. Doesn’t state anywhere on the link that it can regulate the charge. Good price bu I’ll stick to the plug type
Similar ones in Aldi this week for £9.99 I think

Its the output device (phone for example) that contains the charging circuit and it controls how much current to draw from the power supply.
Same as sold in B&Q (for £18). I have rennovated a house using these particular sockets in combination with the non-usb type and I have had no issues. Clearly if B&Q sell them then there should be no issue in these conforming to british standards.

Yep not doubting but still "some guy in a sweat shop" as still made in China.
Screwfix currently have 2 for £12, 3.1 amp variety.
But in white.
