Anyone in the market looking for cheap NFC sticker tags to do some automation using their NFC enabled smartphone/device, these NFC stickers are a steal at this price.

Looks like there are only 4 of these packs available (as of 12/03) across the whole of UK Maplin stores with their stock availability split being as follows:

Stoke on Trent: 3
Barrow-in-Furness: 1

Hoping this benefits anyone living close by to the above locations. Home Delivery not available, click and collect only at above stores.

NFC tags are passive devices, which means that they operate without a power supply of their own (no batteries needed as well) and are reliant on an active device like a NFC enabled smartphone device to come into range before they are activated.

There are some creative ways of using NFC tags and automating stuff if you have an NFC enabled smartphone. You can read more about these NFC tag uses here and here.

Great fun. I got some a while ago, put a variety of witty comments on them, and took them up the pub. Had lots of fun with the locals. Haven't really found much practical use though. Heat anyway.

And if maplin had priced stuff like this around this price to start with they wouldnt be struggling financially. Heat added for price

Indeed a whacky idea and one that would work although I am not sure people would be too keen in waiting for their credit cards to expire and then stick them around like NFC stickers. It wouldn't make a pleasant sight as well.

Thanks for pointing this out, didn't know I could do this but I set it up and it works! Hopefully should save me from buying a Flic!
