Better off getting a year's EA access sub
I like to own my games, instead of a subscription such as EA access. Great price. Thanks

This isn't a game to own. It's so unbelievably short it's not worth it. I to like to own games but not ones that take 9 hours to complete

I've been playing it for way more than 9 hours and still not finished the story (if you can call it a story).
I guess it all depends on your play style, I've been doing all the side races to buy and upgrade all the cars I want. I'd say £15 is a great price for it

What benefits do physical costs have for a average game?

Its one of the best NFS games in a while I wouldn’t class it as average, it has a midnight club vibe
As for physical its just down to preference, im just one of many game collectors and this is a good price for a physical copy

Its average at best compared to previous version imo.
I collect alot physical costs of games but this isn't one of them. For a extra £4.99 you get a year's access to this plus another 100 games. If any if them are worthy of a physical copy purchase then at least you can try before you buy
Cex give you £20 trade though

That's fair enough, still I can't see myself playing a game like this for more than a month or two so EA access is a better option for me.

Nearly at my 15p biting point
This is a NFS to skip. Played it during EA Access. Nah. I’m buying the games I would play from the vault as physical where I can

Yeah, I kept hearing comparisons to Underground so picked it up and there's several awful parts.

The main issue I thought is that the police totally spoil it for me. They're driving supercars that you can't out run that also happen to be tanks that easily demolish your car and the only reliable way to lose them is do a jump.

This is a nice segue into how atrociously annoying all the voices are. On the police side they're some of the most obnoxious I've ever seen in any game and in normal races they're way too overused. Ended up muting both.

Then the music all absolutely sucks. Seriously terrible soundtrack. Also muted.

I'm also not a fan of how the game feels designed around you sliding around every corner rather than just turning it. The AI is funny though when you see them at even a small corner, even if they're going slow and -bam- big slide around it.

But yeah, after this I'm convinced that the NFS series is dead.

Great price. Just platinumed the game this evening. Took me about 40 hours. Starts off very slow and the story is tonk. But once the story has done and you have some decent cars unlocked I really enjoyed it.
Loved it - great fun. Burned through the campaign in an RSR admittedly a bit surprised by the quick ending. Started again and savoured it all more - doing more races, getting better cars, F40 etc. Fantastic graphics on a pro.
Looking forward to the next installment, aren’t Criterion (Burnout...) developing the next one?
This game is rubbish, I had then sold after 2 weeks

Yea looking forward to see what Criterion do with the series, I wasn't a big fan of the games Ghost made but I thought they did a good job with this one.

Lol arent all nfs games nowadays like this.. i miss the good old days of nfs underground 2 and most wanted on ps2 those were classics..
The story is boring and once you complete all the races there’s nothing to do got bored after a week
One good thing is that the race payouts are high and cars a cheap so you can get all the cars you want without grinding to much
Capotto08/08/2020 20:58

This is smart, I thank the Gods for your birth
Think this is better than the few since nfs underground 2 and most wanted and carbon but it lacks character and is missing something.
Rubber band AI I thought died in the 2000s until i.playex this travesty of a game. Lump on top the painful attempt to be *hip* with the abomination of a story, this is comfortably one of the worst racing games I've ever played. There are literally dozens of racing games that can be picked up dirt cheap that offer better racing......GRID, Forza, Project Cars, F1, Forza Horizons, Dirt....all far superior and offer decent AI.

I was tempted to buy this until i read your comment. I remember older NFS games having awful AI and infuriating rubber banding. I'll pass for now. I bought Assetto Corsa Competizione and i'm a bit surprised at the tame AI in that also (flirt).

All depends what your requirements are though. You are comparing wanna-be sims with an arcade racer - hence the rubber banding! Personally I found more fun to be had with Heat than Grid. Project Cars is great with my sim setup, as is GT and Dirt flat screen and PSVR. However, for an arcade racer, it is, subjectively - really good. Ticks all my boxes of a great looking, arcade handling racer. ‘Travesty of a game’ - no. If you are expecting a sim racer don’t by an arcade racer.

But its simply not true. I've spent 40+ h in this and thoroughly enjoyed. Surely you can rush trough it in 9h but is there a point? I've seen zelda botw speed run in 30 min but people still put 100+ hours in it

I think as an arcade racer Forza Horizon is on another planet to this......I just personally find rubber band AI so irritating, you out in a great race then get punished by illogical AI.

I.think the last great NFS was Hot Pursuit, now they seem happy to churn out this story driven rubbish that is trying so hard to be hio it's painful to watch. I mean each to their own if the rubber band AI doesnt annoy you great
