NHL 18 Standard Edition PS4 at PlayStation Store - £24.99

Been searching for this for a few months for what I consider a "decent" price. Has been selling for £40 - £50 so thought £25 was good. Don't forget to get your PSN credit discounted as well (from CD Keys or similar) to further reduce the amount you pay.

hot,shame not a physical copy
I want to buy this for my son who lives with mum, is it a download, can I gift it without registering?

I'm concerned it would be assigned to my account and he wouldn't be able to use if he already has an account.

Apologies for the dumb Q, I'm not a gamer.
I'd been expecting/hoping this would hit £30 in the sale so I was very pleased to see it £5 less!

What's the significance of it not being a physical copy, nothing to sell when bored with it?

Yep, you cant sell on a digital copy. At least if you did become bored of it after buying it physical you could get some money back from it. I think the poster means its a shame its not a physical copy at this price.

s alright, it is a good price full stop fwiw (physical price is absolutely bonkers) Should get a little hotter than this. Heat!
The physical copies of the NHL games never seem to really drop in price, at least not until the following year's version is released. So a discounted digital copy is always a good deal IMO.

The account you are signed in as when you buy is the account that owns the game so it would be best to buy it from your son's account if possible. Gifting games isn't supported unfortunately.

Or you could buy a £25 gift card instead so he can buy the game himself. Not an ideal solution but it's an option.
Save yourself even more money and just buy last years edition. There is barely any difference this year from last year.
Thanks guys (and girls)

Agreed that it wouldn't be worth upgrading if you own a recent copy (from what I've read). Haven't played an EA Sports NHL game for about 15 years so wanted to get involved again :). Quite fancy the "3s" mode and don't think that's available in '17 and the price difference isn't huge hence going for this.
There are two british teams added to this one I believe Cardiff Devils (whooo) and Nottingham Panthers cos they added the Champions Hockey League in

may buy it just for that, probably the only time i'll get to play as cardiff devils in a videogame

No chance of MK Lightning in the game - fingers crossed that we'll make it at some point in the future 😊⚡🏒

Also 18 is the first NHL game enhanced for the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. Noticeably sharper visuals are the main reason I wanted to get it (16 was the last edition I bought. )

Unless he has your playstation account you couldn't game share, the best thing to do would be to say I was going to buy you this game, here is a code for £25 psn credit if you fancy buying it

If you're a Franchise mode player then it's definitely worth the upgrade. I can't speak for the online or HUT as I don't touch them.
If you have a canadian account then you can get it £21. You can get the credit from pc games supply. Means you can also take advantage of the flash sales which tend to have cheap deals. I am just downloading it now.

The significance of owning a physical copy is that it collects dust and therefore involves more work than a digital copy.
