Over a million people work in the NHS - now if they were all docs and consultants then those people you see cleaning, preparing the meals etc would be driving Mercs and BMWs.....

this is how you get the discounted tickets.......
Ring the number below quote the code to get the tickets at that price.....

Seeing as this is limited to NHS staff, so the general public can't get the discount, this isn't a 'deal'.
Or should I post all the reductions that only people working at Morgan Stanley can get from multiple companies?

THAT'S why it got expired, and should have stayed that way.

Great deal for the day staff admin workers who get weekends off and decent cash anyway.

Personally I'd make them have to apply for tickets, wait months and then let them in the gates late on in the day. Only to have to wait in a little room before being humiliated, treated like children and then joining a massive queue that goes nowhere near the ride.

(except the nurses, they do a damned fine job)

They should only be allowed to book the tickets on the day they want to go - If they want to book in advance they have to wait over a month - They should only be allowed to ride on 1 ride which is chosen by alton towers - They would then wait in the que for hours only to get to the front and be told there is no more funding for this ride.

LOLLOL..... well funny . I'm not the NHS's biggest fan by any means. NHS thinks i get my treatment for free where i think i have paid for it in advance !!!. Some of their front line staff look pretty stressed out though so could do with a day out i think ........ all except the GP's that is, around 120K a year to poke naked people and tell them to come back in a week if they don't feel any better.......great job if you can get it :roll::roll::roll:

On the flipside, my missus works at the RVI in Newcastle for the NHS, and we didn't know about this deal, and would have missed it otherwise.

Cheers to the OP, H&R added.

Can anyone make head or tail of this deal? The title on the NHS page says £12 tickets for adults and children (yes I am one of those NHS workers but last time I checked I wasnt a Consultant). It also says you can save £25 per person, just below that it says you can save £14 and further down it says a day ticket will cost you £22 (which would be a saving of £15)....Then if you click on 'latest offers', it says the price is £17 which would be a saving of £20.

How much does it actually cost????

What a load of BS.

In that case, every PS3 deal should be expired immediately as not everyone owns a PS3 console. Every Baked beans deal should be expired immediately because I don't eat them etc etc.

If you don't like it, move onto the next deal

But where is the £12 deal other than in the headline? Am I being thick?

Thats a very narrow minded view you have !!
My oh works for the Blood and donor service........works shifts 46 hours a week generally.........do you think he is over paiid too??
do you think he should queue up too!!
Talk about blinkered!!!

Dawn

I agree with you, if they can do a reduced price for NHS Staff then why can't they do the same for ordinary folk.
After all we are in a recession, and most nhs staff are well payed.

Your relation must be ok with the shift work or he would find another job.
I wouldn't know if he's over paid as you aint said how much he earns!
And finally Yes he should que, what makes you think he should be exempt from queing up like the rest of us?

Stop, I'm going to have to disagree with you there, I worked in HR for the NHS for a while and the majority of the staff are not doctor's or specialists. The high paid staff are in the extreme minority, most of the staff are the day to day staff that do all the crappy jobs and work really hard to keep the place clean and everyone (relitively) happy and fed. Plus there are hundreds of admin in hr and medical records, all the paperwork doesn't magically appear for the doctors. We didn't get bonuses, hampers or any kind of thankyou's at christmas while all my mates/other companies did because it wouldn't look good spending public money on that.

The reality is it is underpaid but it is also a nice place to work, I'm sure most of you out there have job perks why are NHS employees not allowed?

Firstly can you tell me where I mentioned that the majority of staff were Doctor's or Specialist's?
Nor did I mention anything about High Paid Staff!
Maybe's part of the reason that our Hospital's are in decline is down to that attitude ( quote - most of the staff are the day to day staff that do all the crappy jobs).
I've never had any "perks" in my job, and why did you start mentioning Medical Records etc? makes no sense.
I could start talking about the ins & outs of my job, but it would only bore you.
I'm interested in a fair deal for the ordinary person whether they are working or unemployed,
by offering deals like this Alton Towers are overlooking the majority of people that can't afford these luxuries in these recession hit times.

Why can't us poor souls in the banking industry get something like this???

Majority of the sheep like public all blame banking staff for losing tax payers money yet the NHS continue to p!ss money up the wall and provide just as poor a service.

We're not even allowed a Xmas party this year in case the press happen to hear about it and people will say that it is tax payers money paying for it.

Australia here I come and good riddance to the uk...

Feel better for that, thanks for listening. Now where was I, Oh yes putting charges on people's bank accounts for being overdrawn....

NHS are the 6th largest employer in the world.
Morgan Stanley are nothing in comparison

So on that basis should I spam every deal from Home Bargains, Makkro, Maplin... etc

Don't be so silly

when i have been to a hospital restaurant i have seen that there are 2 prices. 1 for us and a subsidised price for staff. Now i know there are alton towers discounts and i know that there are also mobile phone line rental discounts. What other discounts are there?
Must be great working in an organistation with no shareholders to answer to and perks galore :x

why just nhs? What about bupa? And the police? And the Fire Brigade?

Oh dear - so narrow minded and childish.... its posts like this that make me feel good about myself......

...all sorts of businesses get all sorts of perks.... if you not happy with one business or organisation getting a specific perk then why don't you try going to work for them?? Let me guess 'davelfc' - unemployed???
