To help keep the NHS and HSC on the move this Christmas in the UK, we’re committing to giving healthcare workers two Uber rides worth up to £10 which will be available to staff with a valid NHS or HSC email address between 24-25 December 2021.

We’re also giving away a food delivery of up to £10 through Uber Eats, in which NHS and HSC staff choose to order a hot meal from a local restaurant, or everyday essentials from a nearby shop, all delivered to their home or even the ward.

If you are a member of NHS or HSC staff, please see below for details on how you can get your rides and meals this Christmas.

Know someone who works for the NHS? We think they deserve a treat! Spread the festive cheer by sharing this page with friends & family.

From the whole Uber community, a million thanks for all that you do and Happy Christmas.

    Your Promo Codes

Your Uber promo code to redeem 2 x £10 rides is THANKYOUNHS21RIDE

Your Uber Eats promo code to redeem 1x £10 food delivery is THANKYOUNHS21EAT

These are both valid from 12.01am on 24th December 2021 to 23:59pm on 25th December 2021

Try those. It worked for me and had no email (edited)

You never get nothing for the carer's . Loads of us do more hours than the NHS staff , alot of us even spend more time in the hospital's than alot of NHS staff . I'm not knocking what they get . I even talk to to loads of staff and they say it should be widened for what some others should get .

You'd only be subsidising 'them' if, for example, a retailer advertised something for £100, and NHS staff paid £80 after a 20% discount and the retailer charged you £120...

So you're not really a Scrooge. Just a bit bitter & jealous. And no, I'm not NHS staff, I don't get discounts, and I definitely don't begrudge them getting any!

Every time there's something for the NHS everyone comes crawling out the woodwork to complain "whataboutmeeeee"

Relax folks, these megacorporations don't actually give a flying about your public healthcare service they are just trying to be viewed by the public in a positive light with these little promotions. Unfortunately you cleaning the nappies of old grannies in a care home doesn't tickle their concious quite as much or make them look as good in the public eye.

Always makes me laugh that they just turn a blind eye to the fire service, the police and the army. Many risk their lives for this country

Nice of them to offer the NHS discounts but it's about time they show some appreciation to the above too (edited)

I'm all for NHS discounts (I get them).
But there has to be a better way than linking NHS emails to companies that spam the hell out of you.
It just clogs the email system and inboxes and the risk is that real important NHS emails get lost in all the noise.

Its a shame that carers are excluded, but an awful lot of care homes across the country are run by private companies who are in it for a profit.

I'm not on about care homes . I'm on about people who look after their sick children or family members . People who do training even so that sick person doesn't spend so much time in hospital and do the same job as a nurse and a doctor 24/7 .

The comment about doing what Drs do made me chuckle.... Last night shift had 6 resus calls come into the ITU. Resus, lines, careful monitoring and adjustment of treatment isn't a joke.

Anyways, anyone else having issues with THANKYOUNHS21EAT? It's saying promotion not available on my UE

There are Uber eats codes every month or so , so what if this is NHS only. I am happy they receive a little here and there from these big companies. They deserve it. And no I am not a nurse. And I know it is a marketing ploy, just like all the other offers. Companies have to look good and offer freebies and discounts to make money.

And yes the other services deserve it too but due to the current environment they are top of the agenda and Uber wants to be seen doing something (edited)

Do the same job as a doctor or nurse? That person must be a doctor or nurse! Otherwise, they're not and can't claim to be equivalent to one.

There's nothing like doing the same job with a licensed person in a profession. Training and certification in any profession take a lot, it shouldn't be disrespected.

A person trained to take care of a sick person may not be a doctor or nurse and can't automatically be likened to one.

It’s called “surging” it’s what Uber do! Use a local taxi or PH firm for an honest and safe ride that also pays taxes in the U.K. and not n another country thus avoiding paying their way and avoiding paying into the NHS amongst other good causes.

    In true HUKD Fashion...

Took a £9.90 Uber Taxi to M&S [Free]
Bought a £60 Turkey reduced to £10 & put in the freezer now. They had over 100 turkeys and decided to only do >50% reductions TEN minutes before the store closed. There were only about 20 customers left including myself..... I hope they feed people with the food rather than bin it. Completely stupid they didn't discount earlier to sell the food. There's more left than the employees could possibly use.
Took a £9.90 Uber Taxi back from M&S [Free].
Ordered 2 Ben & Jerries Ice Creams [500ml x2] for £10.50 via Uber Eats delivered to my home Address from the local Pizza Restaurant - costing 50p.

    Maximum value achieved (edited)

The company’s only do it because society in general has arbitrarily singled out a subset of society for deification. They milk that to engender good will for their own brandUsed to be priests (that went well), now it’s the NHS. Maybe one day we’ll learn that no subset of the population deviates from the norm without compelling evidence to the contrary. But I wouldn’t hold your breath

The deification IMO is only for social currency imo. Decimate health and social services, run it threadbare and continue to drive down the wages of those who work in it only to serve platitudes like this. The government is a joke; constantly, superficially praise the NHS whilst dismantling and decimating it.
