hi this is my first post be nice please

i was looking for new Straightener as my GHD broke down on me wish i could fix it lol.

anyway did some research to find cheaper alternative and came across this Straightener apparently an independent research was carried out and this straightener was preferred over GHD (this cliam is on the box so must be ture otherwise GHD would sue the lol) so i thought wow at the review but booo to the price then saw Amazon selling so cheap had to buy one. cost quiet a lot in other stores

Tesco at £39.98
boots £81.69
very.co.uk £79
Nicky Clarke site £79.99

Do not use on your pubic hair.

I REPEAT DO NOT USE ON YOUR PUBIC HAIR.

I will never be the man I once was.
Off topic a bit but depending on the age (Maybe it does not matter) of the GHD's if you send them back direct to ghd they usually fix them for free and send them back recorded delivery. My missus did it with some and because they couldn't fix them and were discontinued they sent the newsest ones at the time for free.
I sent my sisters away to GHD and as I could not prove they were under two years old they never fixed them and wanted money to send them back.

I ended up buying her a pair off GHD for £60.

Really bad customer service tbh. I bought them from the funky group and they could not find my order on their system.

ordered thanks, mind you I had to send GHDs back to Amazon a couple of months ago as they didn't work (tried them once!) ...... hoping these are better! Paid £89 for the GHDs (in a special edition pack)

BTW these Nicky Clarke straighteners are £36 in Boots (half price at present)

I'm going to have to uninstall the hot UK deals app....Love it but spend too much money! Lol. Ordered as a spare set :-) Thanks
Hot in more ways than one!
Have some heat, after reading the reviews the seem as good as GHD's, brownie points for me from the misses.
There are many 'as good as GHDs' kicking about and they are generally pretty rubbish!!
These are good but I prefer my Babyliss out of the two.

I paid £8.18 for mine from Tesco 6 months ago when they were getting rid of old electrical items!

GHD straighteners are pretty simple to fix, lots of tutorials online, anyone who can use a soldering iron can do it.
These state that they are 'worldwide voltage' - Does anyone who has these know for sure whether they heat up as good whilst in USA?
I love my babyliss ones, and even though they state worldwide, they definitely don't heat up as well as in the UK?
Decisions, decisions...
Too early to start buying for Christmas? I usually start around December 20th...

Heated.
I have had a nicky clarke hair straightner before and they were good but my friend had the reminginton with heat increase upto 220° is better. I currently have a ghd for over 5 years, its expensive but the best on the market for any type of hair :-)
I had the ghd IV. The broad iron ones as I have thick, curly long hair. People think I have straight hair, once you get a ghd, you never go back to any other hair straightners. I gave my nicky clark to my sister. Its good & economical.

Yeah, if you have straight hair then curls are in.
If you have wavy hair then straight is in.

Women, eh... (_;)
I have these and I love them. I have really thick hair and they straighten it no problem, managed to get mine for about £35 so much cheaper than ghd's. Bargain at that price

Thanks - tempted
just received straighteners today and i must say i'm amazed they look great AND EXPENSIVE and they make my hair look amazing looks shiny not greasy( could be the nano plates thing) and straight which is the purpose of them wow i love them in my opinion they are better than GHD at a fraction of the price by the way i have hard to handle bushy hair lol now looks like im wearing a wig. was thinking of getting a keratin treatment but with my new straightener looks like i got one. also im loving the variable heat setting unlike GHD. i'd better stop i sound like im blogging lol TMI. HOPE IT HELPS SOME ONE.
For the summer long curly hair looka good so I am going al natural ;-)
Boots have them on offer for £35

Heat Added though....

I got a pair there, can easily say now i've started xmas shopping

I like sodapoda coments posted. I will recommend to friends especially at that price. Good find ;-)
Ordered these for the wife because her GHD's packed in last week (lasted 8 years!)
Thought I'd give these a go, although she has always sworn by GHD's.....

Arrived this morning, and she used them straight away. She's very impressed with the results, and herself admits that these are as good as, if not better than GHD's. I never thought I'd ever hear her say that!

Many thanks to the op.
Bargain!

well a hope they are good just ordered a pair
Ordered for missus, hope I get to see nice straight hair :-)
Ordered for the Mrs, they came and she is currently using them... and she says they are crap compared with her GHD's ffs always feckin moaning ungrateful cow... gonna go and stamp on her GHD's that will mess her up.

anyone know the returns policy?
these are the worst straightners i have ever used, catches from the top to the bottom and the heat is nowhere near my ghd's.
I really don't know how people are saying they aren't as good as GHD's. I have GHD's and my daughter has these as she takes them to sleepovers, etc and didn't want her losing expensive GHD's. If these are in the house I use them over my own GHD's. I love them and have now bought myself a pair at this price.
