Not looked/tried yet this year but I've always been happy with the ones I've bought from Aldi and I've had some nice ones from Tesco in the past. Used to be around a fiver but no doubt prices will have crept up these days.

Cava is bottle fermented, like champagne. Prosecco is just pretty ordinary wine pumped full of CO2. There are exceptions of course but Prosecco just became fashionable with the 'ladies who lunch' types which pushed up prices whereas Cava can be a real bargain.

This one from Aldi may be worth a try at £5.49:

Morrissons have one reduced to £4.49 at the moment but as it's only semi-dry I think I'll skip that one; there are people who prefer a slightly sweeter glass of bubbles though. (edited)

Sainsbury's were doing prosecco for £5.75 called 7 8 9 I could really taste the apples in it and thought it was a bargain

Wasn't that keen on it last year tbh maybe it will be better this year? There are a lot of good proseccos and cavas for this price or less

Cava over Prosecco any time (methode champenoise) and a good one can be remarkably cheap!

Mate, with a bit of googling just seen your deal before you posted this.

Nice one (and good old @louiselouise for adding what she did, wish she would do the same for this deal )

Thought sub £10 Champagne was long gone with inflation the way it is. But maybe people will stop drinking so much. Worth a try at this price.

From the reviews on the site I linked to in my OP this was £10.99 3 years ago so, considering what has gone on in those intervening 3 years this is a miraculous price, surely?

Is this easy drinking? I do not like anything too dry

Very decent for the price. on par with a decent Prosecco I would say and quite dry.

I didn't personally like this Champagne but still for £9.99 it's good value for someone

I decided to take the plunge and buy this for New Years Eve. Very enjoyable and I will certainly buy it again.
