It's finally coming to gamepass!

I know this isn't exactly a 'deal', but I didn't know this was coming to gamepass and I thought I few of you might want to know. Also be a nice game to play while being cooped up.

As always with gamepass, you need a Xbox Gamepass subscription to play.

This game is awesome, and deserves all the credit it gets. This a big win for those with a gamepass membership.
Game isn’t terrible, but it is incredibly over-rated.

worth playing for free though
Excellent! I've been close to buying this on PS4 :-)

Saved me £16 ..... Cheers op!

I didn't see the earlier post so thanks from me
@migavupe I posted this a good few hours ago, then it got moved to a discussion, and now it's a deal?
So I did originally post this a good while ago, don't know why it's moved so much

I'll give it a go for free. I'm sure it's massively over rated like all Platinum games.
Just bought this a little while ago on xbox digital sale. Dammit!

That would explain the 4 separate notifications.

Agreed. Amazing soundtrack though, and solid atmosphere.
Was about to buy this on ps4, will dust off the XBox instead, thanks. Still got 8 months left of a cheap ultimate game pass I got...
As has been pointed out. NieR: Automata is set to launch on Game Pass on April 2nd, not April 3rd.

Same. I was looking fo buy this game this week. Nice!
Was just thinking last week I might order this. Nice heads up, cheers!
I'm currently playing through this right now and whilst the soundtrack is amazing, the actual gameplay is hit and miss. I don't really like the mish mash of genres of it switching randomly from hack n slash combat to third person shooter with different control styles.

I've finished route A and currently on route B which is a chore. 9S is pretty rubbish to control after using 2B for so long and it's really annoying how you're forced to play through the majority of the first half of the game again just to get a different perspective on things.

It's only after you complete route B that the real second half of the story unlocks with route C and a brand new character in A2. I really wish you could skip the 9S route altogether because it really is a waste of time so far. Its artificially extending the play time by treading mostly old ground. It would have been better if his run was just the parts where he's not with 2B rather than almost all of the same thing again.

So far, after around 17 hours of playing it's a mixed bag. I certainly don't rate it as highly as the critics or other players and I do agree that Platinum Games in general get far more praise than they deserve.

Out of all the games I've played from them only Vanquish has lived up to its reputation. This and both Bayonetta games are merely decent to me rather than the masterpieces they're made out to be. Even as a massive Metal Gear Solid fan I didn't find Metal Gear Rising to be anything special.

But anyway, as a XGP title it's definitely worth a try but you'll really need to invest some hours into it and deal with some tedium to get the full story. I'm just hoping I don't give up half way through this boring 9S route.

Exactly, the bit everyone praises is the third playthrough and even that has the most pointlessly painful bit of gameplay I have ever experienced
One of the best games i ever played, hot hot hot
Amazing game, but boring by the end due to just being a bit too easy.

Same
Not guaranteeing it'll come for PC. Hope it does. Would be brilliant to try it. Between this and Epic my wishlist is getting depleted.
Tragic little game. Very poor on all counts.
Fantastic game with an amazing soundtrack. The soundtrack is on Spotify too.
Great game. I’m interested to see how this runs on an X vs a Pro. A great addition to Game Pass if a little odd as in my opinion the PS4 is the more natural fit for its user base, as demonstrated by the mixed opinions here on this deal.

With an 89 critic average, 94% recommending it, it’s well worth a download at least.
Great news. I almost bought the game a couple of weeks ago. Glad I didn't now

I've completed it on PS4 and totally agree. It's a decent 8/10 game but it's not amazing.

Yup, you have to play the same story line over and over with minor adjustments each time. Wake me up when September ends

Incorrect. The second play through retreads some of the same ground but you play as 9S, it's also a lot shorter and then the last few sections are different. The third playthrough is all new as you play as A2.
