What I've read is that using a controller is optimal otherwise works. Maybe like driving games.
I can't decide if I should get this game or not.

It just looks like a crazy Japanese/Anime/Devil May Cry sort of game. Which ain't usually for me.

It seems to get a lot of positive feedback.

It's a JRPG action game with great gameplay (bullethell inspired) which changes things up a lot and a good sci-fi story.

Kinda dmc but also not really. Pretty Japanese but if generalising so much that's a disqualifier then your taste range is gonna be too narrow for this I guess.
fantastic game, cheapest i've seen it tbh
I really don't understand the love for this game at all. I played right through it waiting for the payoff and it never came. And yes this is to then end of route C...
If running the fix-patch and wanting to run above 60FPS, do make sure to lock your frame rate anyway (e.g. to 120), as it doesn't play nice when completely unlocked.

I suppose it should be more about the journey. I had a lot of fun with Automata (Steam claims 60 hours), but the storyline never quite punched in. The original Nier absolutely smashes the story out of the park, along with a better (OK, that's subjective!) soundtrack. I was hoping Automata would trigger a Nier PC release, but no luck so far. Never even got Xbone BC! But despite the PS2-level graphics, it's well worth one's time if you get the chance to play it through to Ending B on 360 or PS3 (about 20-30 hours).

I think it's the tone shift. Each quest in the game and some of the side quests in particular were amazing with real emotional highs and lows. The ending is a bit more cerebral and felt underwhelming.

I would recommend this game to anyone but take it slow, smell the roses and do the side quests.
Bought the "yorha edition" on on pc during the last sale for £15. Should I return it and buy this? Is this the "yorha" too?

Edit: cheeky busters. They just increased the price by £1. Maybe in a few hours I won't need to worry about returning the Steam edition.
