Although this is the best price at the moment for this, the post is more of a heads up rather than a deal. I have it on good authority that Nikka are stopping production of this, so this may be your last chance to get hold of some if you wanted to add this to your collection.

Winner of Jim Murry's 2020 Japanese Whisky of the Year scoring a whopping 95.5, it really is incredible stuff.

I've ordered a few bottles

It looks like the "non-age" Taketsuru referred to on this post is unaffected by the production wind-down. It's the 3 aged ones that are being discontinued.

Is it not just the Age statement bottles being discontinued?
Are you sure they're discontinuing the non age statement version? I read about them stopping the age statement ones, but I can't see why they'd need to stop this one. Since it's NAS they could just put younger stuff in it if they're running low on older spirit. This article does say they're keeping the NAS:

Hmm, I wonder if that's accurate, since the timeout article specifically says the NAS will be staying...

Dekanta are a specialist Japanese whisky distributor - whilst I'm sure they could have got it wrong or it's a ploy to shift the NAS, they've hiked their prices across all 4.
Piling on, but as with many producers it's the age statement bottlings which are hard to maintain, not the non-age statement. Be surprised if this saw a significant uptick due to scarcity.

As I understand it, it's more to do with the supply of Yoichi and Miyagikyo, but in any case I'm not here to convince anyone.
On the subject of the whisky itself, it really is very nice. I love the fact that it's only from 2 distilleries - the different flavour profiles really shine through. Just coming to the end of my bottle, which was only £25 (full price!) when purchased 2 years ago...
Future me thanks you when the price doubles or the supply dries up.

Confirmed that the NAS is going. It will be replaced by another NAS but Taketsuru Pure Malt will be no more
