You wouldn't would you - Chinese seller Why do the sheep insist on posting these Chinese deals ? Are they totally unaware of the pitfalls -or are they just Sheep , conned by a glossy website
If this is not a European serial number, then you have no warranty. If the seller says you do, then you have to send back to the seller for them to send back to whatever country they got it from to be repaired. You'll be looking at a few weeks turnaround, if lucky. If the seller stops trading, then you're stuffed.

And if it's from China, then you'll get no warranty. I tried to return goods there, and once it arrived in China, they held it, demanding import duty be paid, and wouldn't release it until it had, seller hadn't told me about it and washed their hands of it.
Astounded people spend this much money on stuff from these people...I know you save money, but if you have an issue, you can pretty much kiss your money good bye.
I totally agree it is a risk. But I have received a great copy of this lens and its a Nikon not a Sigma or Tamron so the quality control and design is up to better standards. Quite a saving. Sometimes its worth taking a risk.

Surely it's the 'sheep' who buy the inflated prices in the UK , those who buy imports are a minority and are willing to take a slight risk for a healthy saving. I've bought 2 lenses and a phone as imports this year and had no problems at all. Though £848 would be pushing the risk factor for me.

Good for you , you can afford the gamble - as could I if I so wished . Sadly many who are directed to these glossy websites - cannot afford the gamble , or even realise it is a gamble . We are talking about the HUKD sheep here , who trust a deal to be kocher as its on HUKD
While a good price i would be vary wary using eGlobal to purchase this.... Have a look at the T&C's, should anything go wrong with it you have to send it back to their china address at your own expense!!. The warranty claims look like its only covered under their 1 month warranty as its classed as a camera accessory so you wouldnt get the 24 months they advertise on some items and you wouldnt have the standard 12 month warranty from over here as you bought a 'grey' lens. Look at the likes of Portus digital or HDEW cameras who both supply grey products!!. I have purchased many items from portus with no problem apart from one which was the D500 which had a faulty bayonet due to my sigma sport lens. It went straight to a shop in glasgow they use under warranty for repair (excellent service). I am waiting for this lens from portus at the moment, paid £935 delivered with a 2 year UK warranty.

Another thumbs up for Portus, I got a 70-200 and other than a little wait for the post it was great deal and a good seller.
I’ve done an import before but had a world wide warranty for five years (not from this company), I’ll mirror what others have said, this is a huge risk. I’ve had some bad copies before and easily rectified. £900 on a piece of glass with no support is madness.

I’ve book marked Portus, I wasn’t looking for new glass but now I am, damn you hukd
