A great price for this lens. Amazing for video, autofocus is extremely quiet. I shot fantastic shots with this lens on my D5500 while in Venice & Rome last month. An absolute steal at this price!

I ordered mine from eGlobalCentral and it arrived within a week and a half with the insured shipping, no problems whatsoever, and not a grey import. Genuine EU stock.

Free delivery when spending over £50, just add something cheap to cart to get free delivery. Various discount codes if spending over £150

Yes

General question about this retailer - does anyone have experience ordering, say a DSLR camera from these folks?

They have some quite low prices, but I'm wary of customs charges on bigger ticket items. Any first hand experiences with their warranty? I've read reviews from trustpilot etc, but it would be useful to hear first hand from HUKD folk.

Grrr was planning to sell mine for £80ish to put towards a new camera

Same seller £58 with free delivery on Ebay

Hot, but postage should be included in title

I use it on a D5500. A really lightweight lens for carrying about with a zoom range useful for landscapes and portraits. If I was being pedantic it's not optically perfect, but it's an incredible deal at this price. Then you need a 55mm UV filter to protect, and maybe a polarising filter for landscapes.

These sell for a lot more than this on eBay.

If you're concerned about the retailer, try using E-infinty instead as there prices are quite similar but they have impressive reviews. They are grey imports but I just bought this lens and a Nikon D5500 from them and they were great.

This is £64 with free shipping from Einfinity but is white box which doesn't seem to include lens case and hood, just the lens cap.

I ordered this lens from eGlobalCentral, after ordering one from Amazon for £99. The one from eGlobal was exactly the same, same barcode, same model number, identical, so I just returned one to Amazon as I was still in my 30 days.

No, This is the AF-P version which is the much newer one that has the silent AF motor. Much better in low light and for video.

Is this the one that comes with d5500? Can I take object focussed and background blurred using this lens?

I've ordered quite a few high priced items from them and would recommend them, they would be my first choice when ordering camera gear, great prices, fast delivery and I've never had to pay any import duties.

You can also get a possible 2% cashback via Quidco.

Isn't it VR II that you get with the latest Nikons, I know my D3300 came with one.

VR II on the AF-S lenses is older than VR on the AF-P lenses

I am hoping for a good price on a 50mm prime lens too or a 35mm, but yes, they don't seem to have any offers on these, even second hand they are expensive.

This place is not good for my wallet ...

Ordered this - thanks and have some heat man.

Nikon 35mm 1.8 would be much better for this.

Never had a problem with them. Got my D5500 with 18-55 and 55-200 from them in 2015. No issues at all. Also got two Samsung tablets, £500+ the year before, massive savings and no problems again.
Also, if there's something you're after, a lens, a watch etc, just email them and they'll go out of their way to source it and add it to the site with a enticing price compared to our normal kind of prices.

Please bear in mind that this lens will only work on camera bodies that are the D5300 age and newer. It will not work on the D5100, D5200 etc as they do not support the newer AF-P specification.

This lens comes with new D5300 and D5600 camera kits. The D5500 kit has been discontinued and never came with this. Both D5300 and D5500 are still available although the original D5300 kit came with the older AF-S VRII lens.

+1 35mm 1.8 is a really really good lens. Can be had for around £90 used on eBay.

I use it on a d5200, upgraded firmware from sd card no problem.
The lens will default to VR on when attached to models released prior to the D3400: D3300, D5500, D5300, D5200, D7200, D7100. These cameras will also require a firmware upgrade to access the menu to turn off the VR.

The number of cameras compatible with both lenses is limited. Even for compatible cameras, firmware update may be required*. Fully compatible models: D5500, D5300*, D3400, D3300*, D500 and later models

Compatible models with limited functions: D5, D810 series, Df, D750, D7200, D7100, D5200, Nikon 1 series with the FT1

Incompatible models: D4 series, D3 series, D2 series, D1 series, D800 series, D700, D610, D600, D300 series, D200, D100, D7000, D5100, D5000, D90, D80, D70 series, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D50, D40 series, film cameras

If you are looking for a prime lens and not a zoom lens... What is the point in comparing apples to oranges?

Amazon using flubit had a great price last month but now is expensive second hand go for nearly new prices it's a pain I might just use one the import sites like hdew or one of the ones on eBay.

so no custom duty to pay then ?

£367 is an amazing price on the 18-300mm zoom as well.

No - the items are stocked in France which is inside the EU. Better stock up on cheap deals like this before brexit!

Funnily enough Amazon.co.uk appears to think that the lens is compatible with D7000.

I tried cancelling the order, but no reply. Planning to flog it on Amazon / Ebay once I get it. Don't see what else i can do. Lovely kit, no doubts about that.
