I have a 50mm would it be still worth me getting this ? although I've been wanting something like 300m zoom for a while now ;-)

Don't think this'll do what a 300mm does

would've snapped this up if I didn't have a 50mm

Anybody know if you can Flubit this and still get the cash back?

Edit:Here's the link to claim the cash back

A 35mm lens makes much more sense on a crop sensor than a 50mm, voted hot although I don't have any Nikon cameras to buy this for.

great price and nice sharp compact lens

What is your bite point? Not sure you'll get it much cheaper than this.

Personally I would not, I have the 50mm 1.8 I also got this one a little while ago but sold it not long after. But it all depends on your needs.

Great lens and great bokeh! I have this and the 50mm, awesome value for money.

I have this lens on my 3300 body. My kit lens hasn't been on my camera since I got this. Just makes alot more shots possible in questionable lighting.

EDIT: To put this in perspective,on the kitlens @ 35mm I can shoot at F4 where as I can shoot at F1.8 on this. This allows me to shoot at 1/200 instead of 1/40.

Not to worry. I think you were right the first time.

Hi. I have the D3200. Will this lens fit and is it worth me buying? I've got the standard lens that came with the camera 18-55mm.
I want a lens that zooms in more. Please advise as I'm not very technical on these cameras

can I ask the reason? I won't be buying anyway as I desperately need a tokina 11-16 and a tamron 150-600

This is a great lens to have.....it's not a zoom lens though......it will fit, if going for a zoom go big! 300mm, I got the 200.....sometimes it's not enough..

Fantastic lens - got it for Christmas and love it. If you're looking for a great prime lens without zooming function, get this.

Yes it will. And if you can only afford one other lens definately get this. The low light capabilities and sharpness make it worth every penny. Even at twice the price

I have the 50 1.8 afs and the tamron 70-300 very happy with both of them. the difference between 35mm and 50mm really won't be that much. and of course the 50 will still work if u upgrade to fullframe.

I have this lens for my D5200 and it is fantastic. Excellent sharp images, even in low light. I would definitely recommend.

Good luck getting Nikon to honor the cashback. I bought a D5200 from John Lewis online. Had it delivered to my local Waitrose for pickup. Nikon refused to honor the cashback as they said the invoice from John Lewis was not an acceptable receipt. It was something like £40 cashback too. I would not have bought the camera if I'd know I wasn't going to get the cash back.

I had no problems getting the Nikon cashback when I bought a D3100 from Amazon a couple of years ago.

No, no it won't zoom in more. If you want a subject to appear closer/bigger you need a number bigger than 55, depends on what you want to do, you may want something as high as 300mm (for wildlife etc).

It was briefly at £99 (no cash back) on Amazon a while back. I've been holding out for it go down again but doesn't look likely sadly. Heat added.

He was answering YES it will fit!
As will any lens with the DX logo.
The 50mm and this 35mm lenses are both very good for portrait type photographs. Move backwards and forwards with the camera to compose the shot as they don't zoom! Both have good Bokeh. Google if you are a newbie and haven't heard the expression. :-)

Good price, I have the 50mm. Fantastic lens for the money.

A bit off subject but does anyone recommend this 55-300mm lens?

Great but a sticky lens which like many people I don't take off from my camera.

Nope! I inquired with their supplier and they do not participate with the cashback offer. Check Nikon website for list of participating retailers (online and in store).

I read your initial comment and immediate thought "autocorrect". I've been using my iPhone 6 Plus coming from several years on Android and the autocorrect rarely does me any favours.

is it Good for landscape photography ?

Definitely a great lens. Got it on a D5200 and it literally has me amazed at the quality of pictures my mid level camera can take. However I got it off Amazon a month or so ago and when I applied for cashback from Nikon they said Amazon wasn't an accredited seller or something to that effect? Basically Amazon wasn't on the list of sellers where this lens is eligible for cashback. I didn't mind too much though as I was so blown away by the lens haha

Nobody is talking about zoom lenses here apart from you. If u buy a cheap 300mm lens you will need a tripod and make sure you ask the lion to stand perfectly still

Number 4 on the terms and conditions say;

"Nikon UK Ltd cannot accept claims against products purchased from eBay … "Nikon UK Ltd cannot accept claims against products purchased from eBay (whether listed as new or used). Purchases from Amazon will only be accepted when made directly from amazon.co.uk and not from 3rd party sellers on Amazon Marketplace, whether fulfilled by Amazon or not. "

So yes, the cashback on this will be fine as the £128.99 price is direct from Amazon.
