Beautiful 16 MP images

Whether you're roaming the streets of a foreign city or a beautiful landscape on holiday, enjoying the night sky or photographing wildlife the COOLPIX B500 will capture your surroundings in high quality.

Its backlit CMOS sensor renders details and colours crisply and naturally, and your shots will look sharper as sophisticated VR counteracts blurring from camera shake – even at full zoom.

Get in close to subjects

Great for animal watching, live events and sports matches alike, the COOLPIX B500 Bridge Camera offers a 40x zoom range so you can achieve stunning close-ups of subjects that are far off or hard to get to. Capture more details from a distance with digitally extendable 80x Dynamic Fine Zoom.

Record special events in 1920 x 1080p Full HD and relive those moments in spectacular clarity. Advanced VR is available in video mode and extends across the zoom range, so your videos will be colourful and detailed just like your photos. Save still while you film to make a montage of the best moments for sharing.

Tilting screen for flexible shooting options

Sometimes it's difficult to capture a shot because your view is obstructed - or you might want to capture a scene from a unique angle.

Your Nikon B500 helps you overcome tricky shooting positions and opens up creative possibilities with its tilting touchscreen. Get clear views of subjects even from diagonal directions, and stay comfortable so you can achieve the composition you want.

Wireless connection and easy controls

Link your camera to your smartphone or tablet using SnapBridge to control functions and take photos remotely. This handy wireless function allows for syncing with your devices so you can upload your creations to the internet for fast, easy sharing.

Stay in control with an ergonomically-positioned mode dial and the B500's lightweight design, which allows for easy transportation on any photo excursion.

Only curry’s near me has it listed as display stock! Worth taking the risk as no doubt it might have been battered about!!
P30 Pro will kill these cameras one day.
It's being replaced by the B600, so this'll be curry's getting rid of their last few.

Heat from me.
Seems a great deal. None available near me though.

???

He means for the optical zoom in smartphones making bridge cameras obsolete I expect.
Tempted for the price, but took less than a dozen pics with my last bridge...

What’s this about JL? a price match?

P30 Pro has a 5x optical zoom. The rest is digital. We're still a long way off. The closest thing we have is the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom with 10x

For the “photographer” it won’t.P30 is mainly a digital zoom so it just crops the image.A proper zoom which doesn’t lose image quality is one which has moving glass elements within the lens.So if you are in the market to buy a camera you will tend to buy a camera.

The P30 Pro has a fully OPTICAL 5X Zoom (with moving glass elements) which can be increased with an Ai lossless 10x zoom that is way better than just a plain cropped image as all reviews and samples I've seen have shown. The P30 Pro doesn't compete against this old Bridge camera with it's 40X optical zoom obviously and it's 5X the price but it certainly does on image quality, low light ability, stunning 4k video and versatility. As a 'photographer' I would choose the Huawei all day and every day over this outdated relic.

when the p30 pro is this price i'll buy it too

isn't the 'zoom' camera on p30 a lower res/quality module than the rest of the cameras? (and i thought it wasn't really zoom as such?)
and ai lossless? doubling resolution by magic? why not do it again its lossless and get 20x etc etc

Same here!

From what I've read the separate zoom sensor is 8-megapixel with an f/3.4 lens and 5x optical zoom capability using a periscope system of lens elements to fit in the flat phone shape. As for the Ai lossless stuff, looks pretty good to me and most of the reviews I've seen seem to think it's no gimmick.

yeah i dunno - i am not into the fancy phones so just going by what i read

eg trusted reviews

"However, the standout feature is its zoom. Its “periscope” lens uses what’s known as folded optics to squeeze a 125mm lens with image stabilisation into the P30 Pro’s 8.4mm-thick body. While it isn’t technically a zoom (there are no moving lens elements, so zooming between 24mm-125mm focal lengths involves some cropping),"

though surely between 24 and 125 isnt cropping unless its cropping the 24mm image

it does look good though, or as good as can be shown with a 750pixel high image^^
