Was going to get this from Argos, but will from here as the 20% off, heat added
Anyone now how good this is for filming, my son wants a good camera for scooter edits we have a sony bloggie but dont seem to be able to get the right settings on it.
Very hot (_;)
Great spot. The 20% off code makes for other good deals too particlarly on the Fuji's. The HS20 at £199.99 has got to be worth considering. Utility Warehouse Cashback Card holders get a further 5%.
TZ10 or this, I have the TZ10 now

I have the L120 in red and its a cracking camera, filming on it is spot on, beautiful quality!
Awesome camera! I'm ordering for sure, putting my Fuji Finepix S1730 on sale

EDIT: Actually this doesn't have any Manual controls, hardly a bridge camera is it?

Agreed. Have had this camera since November last year and have been very impressed with both the photos and the 720p video. For this price, its a bargain! Heat added thanks op
Massive bargain.
Wow! I didnt even know Homebase sold cameras! Was going to order the Argos one but the saving will buy a case for it
Thanks OP!
gone for one - thanks
People realise this camera has no manual controls, it's not a proper bridge camera so if you want to learn photography this ain't for you.
Gutted - just got the Argos one yesterday - had a £10 voucher to use
THe checkout process keeps crashing can't order

This takes 4 AA batteries, anyone know how power hungry it is?
Will Argos take back the one I bought earlier on the week?

Thanks for posting, ordered one

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff, but can anyone suggest a good memory card? I googled it and it seems some are specifically for the camera...all advice welcomed!

I did read on another thread that it someone had only taken 50 pics with normal batteries and then it was flat. So it sounds like good rechargeables are a must..

Also, any suggestions on cases? The one suggested on the Argos Nikon thread (the case was from Amazon) is back up at £23 which is apparently not a great deal at that.

Thanks again. We needed a kick up the bum to get a new camera. I just checked our old one and it's 4mp!! And taking photos of the kids, etc on a mobile phone just seems wrong.

it depends what your camera takes. Generally, most of the cameras' take SDHC card. So, 8GB class4 or class 6 would be fine.

I'm wanting to get into photography but I'm fairly clueless on all the settings and what to look for. Is this a good enough starter camera?

No its not, you need a camera that has a manual controls like the FinePix S series, Canon IS etc... You can get the Finefix HS20 for £200 using this code, excellent bridge camera
some of those images on flickr look great.

i don't think so. your receipt will probably state that it is exempt from 30 day money back
Edited by: "deep" 27th Jan 2012
not a bad option. though i do prefer the Fuji Finepix range of bridge cameras that comes with EVF, 30x zoom and manual controls
When I saw this I thought oh no as I bought one the other day. Just checked stock for the red one and it's 'unavailable for home delivery' - so feel better now.
Blimey, that's cheap! HOT

What is the difference?
I bought this camera at Xmas. It isn't supposed to be a bridge camera - in argos its classed as compact digital but OMG....the quality is fantastic!!! Not too hungry on battery and great film taking too.
