At Digital Rev shop you can buy D3300 for £350. Think twice. I'm thinking to go for more compact Sony 5100. Shall I switch the brand?.

Quality camera!

What's the difference between this and the D3100 ?

Digital Rev are grey imports, and there's not much that changed in the D3300 anyway.

It uses a different sensor which delivers significantly better image quality, the screen is a much higher resolution, low light performance is better, and other small improvements like a mic jack and faster continuous shooting. It's generally a superior camera.

Yep, the above was the reason I got the d3200 in the first place and didn't shell out for the d3300!

Sold by berlin foto are you sure it gets the UK cashback?

The NVR version is on sale on Argos website now for £299.99, and with additional £20 NIKON cashback

Tried to figure out what the difference is between NVR and VR and people say not much, so not entirely sure its necessary

Just found this, £299.99 on Jessops for the VR version

jessops.com/onl…tml

remember 2% quidco at jessops- just wondering how low this will go!

vr stand for vibration reduction and seemingly is better for newbies like me. Looks like jessops best deal at the moment £275 approx with voucher and quidco

Damn that's a good find.
I was going to go PC World/Currys tonight to get the same bundle/kit for £330.
£30 for a good SD card and money towards a decent case

Just bought it from Jessops - they do 6 months interest free credit too so took that - and 2% quidco. Had my finger over the buy button from argos yesterday for NVR £299 and also VR from Amazon for £330 - glad I waited a day

....better not drop to £250 before xmas!
Edited by: "LTS_3" 30th Oct 2014

I'm tempted to wait till black friday but the jessops / quidco deal is a great price - best I've seen so far

LTS_3 I gave in yesterday and ordered it from Jessops as well. Cashback tracked at just tracked at £4.98
Quidco have been pushing me to use them again and offered an addition £10 cashback, so I should get a total of £34.98 cashback.
Fingers crossed it all tracks correctly and it ends up only costing me £264 which I can't see it dropping any lower with this lens (its £100+ on its own) any time soon.

LTS_3 you should post it as a new deal as it beats any of the other D3200 deals available at the moment by quite a bit and the next day free delivery is a nice bonus.

mmmm seems to have gone back up to £290 after cashback - I know that I should not have dilly dallied!

Just received an email from Camelcamel.. price has been dropped to £299 with VRII lens..

get the pentax k500, better sensor, faster auto focus, better dynamic range, much better on low light, massive iso sensitivity. plus twin lens kit for 297 at jessops. pentax make the best lower end cameras. better value for money.

I only paid £50 more for the D3300. It removed the low pass filter and shoots faster.

This is still a hot deal though.

Would that be the DxO that's sponsored by Nikon, and which ALWAYS puts Nikon ahead of every other brand regardless of performance?

Pretty sure they're a grey importer, meaning risk of paying VAT upon entry into the country and questionable support for warranty. Worth a few extra quid to get UK stock in my opinion.

instore only as end of line model. but because its not nikon people overlook them.

definitely. I've got both, hands down pentax is better. if your after more focal points and better video then nikon but pure camera wise pentax.

bought one from Jessops last week with the additional Tamron 70- 300mm lens as well for £349 after cashback. I used Camera5 for 5% discount - not sure whether the code still works.

Hähnel UniPal Plus Universal Charger approx £25 Amazon, £30 Currys works very well for our D3200, D300s, D7100. Also used it on Fuji mirrorless small compacts 3.7v li-ons. Won't do big 11.1v cells for EOS1D or D3/4 etc.

Grey import = no/flakey official Nikon warranty, no cashback and risk import taxes
Thats listed as VR not the VRII there is nothing guaranteeing you'll get the VRII.
For £25 difference you get the VRII guaranteed, Amazon service/support, official 2 year warranty (I'm pretty sure it says register within 30 days of purchase get a bonus year on the box).

Jessops seem to have it back in stock and with QuidCo its another £5 cashback so its only £20 difference.
