Where does it state that it comes with a VR lens? The picture shows a VR lens, but they always use this same picture, even for non-VR cameras.

Argos q&a say its vrII

I saw this as well. Some staff members say it is VR and some staff members say it's not, so very inconsistent. So I went into the store and asked them to get the camera out so I could see first hand and it's definitely not VR. Trust me.
They DO have a VR one on the eBay store, but it's not this one.

It's here, and it's £299 -

This is from a private seller, but looks good still ...
Does anyone remember 'VR' (Virtual Reality) Power Rangers by any chance?, hahahaha.

All this chit chat of VR brings me back to the ringing of that distant bell, that's all? (sad I know ... hehehe). :-)
Could OP explain VRII in post description ?... cannot see this on their ebay listing. Misleading post...
The description on the eBay listing states stabilised lens.
Great entry level DSLR, very light and compact. Bought mine a while back for similar price...second hand :(.

The EAN Number quoted at the bottom of the spec confirms this is the VRII
http://www.upcindex.com/18208936762

It's also confirmed in the Argos Product Q+A's

Photo clearly shows the VRII lens.

PS.This is a different model and Catalogue number to what's available in store.

Ok, I see what you're saying. But I'm just still not convinced. Why on earth wouldn't they state in the title or description when it's such a fundamental feature?

From one of the reviews in the listing.
" This is the second Nikon DSLR I have bought from Argos and needles to say a first class experience and customer service and the 3300 takes great low light photos ask the new effects mode is wonderful ,,it is a lot lighter than the d3200 thanks to the new 18-55 vr 2 lens kit which is so small ..look no further than the3300 great DSLR "
I recently bought this camera for my dad and I have to say its a pretty good camera.

of course, my dad didn't like it, he prefers to use his phone

I'd recommend if you are a beginner (and semi-pro), you should definitely give this camera a try.

All the reviews I have read, (majority were comparing the Canon 700d & the Nikon D5300) have stated the Canon with the STM Lens is the winner for video as the lens is a lot quieter when focusing.

I opted for the Canon in the end and bought it last week. Not had ample opportunity to test the video capabilities yet but initial opinion on camera is superb. My first DSLR so I can't comment with any great informed authority but I'm absolutely delighted with it so far.
700D was on at £399 with Argos last week with free bag, also £40 cashback from Canon with their summer promotion up until end of August. So all in for £359.99 in the end.
Worth noting- John Lewis price matched for me so went with them instead (just personal preference) and Jessops also offered price match a few days later but I'd got it by then

both (_;)
no need to stick such huge pics up here, many people are on mobile devices
imgur allows you to select size large/XL thumbnail etc for show and could supply full size links as clickables or via the thumb
btw you could use some highlight protection, straightening and your animal pics are massively oversaturated but i like the clock pic alot
I deliberately posted that

This one with the free bag here:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4447346.htm

Is £689.99.

But this one here:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1024470.htm

Without the free bag is now rather £399.99.

Which of the 2 was it?, as the difference in the prices of the 2 is quite significant ..... thanx.

Re Nikon D3300 / D5300: For video you need the new AF-P Lens (with stepper motor), most reviews will be with the older lens.

Hi sorry missed your question. It was the 2nd one with the 18-55mm lens

John Lewis refunded the difference within 5 days & Canon cashback took about a week.
