This deserves to get very hot indeed.

Thanks OP.

Think Argos is £279 from memory

£340 with 55-200mm lens and the kit at Currys, much better value

Argos is the Non VR lens at £279, this is with the VR II lens and also includes the Nikon Kit.

nice deal, bag is less disgustingly garish and 'plasticy' vs the old one too

Is this a better deal than the very similar one from JL? here

Is the Currys deal with the VR II lens?

no

non vr lens

Is the Currys deal still the better deal? The other lens looks to be around £160 alone at Currys. How important is the VR technology?

Is it worth paying more for VRII lens over VR? I've got some John Lewis vouchers to use up and they only seem to have the VR lens.

similar price at currys

vrii lens too

Thanks TK42. I went in store and got it. Bought a few heavily discounted accessories (SD card and filter) as well as a discounted course so I can finally learn properly about SLR controls!
