Whatever your level of skill - beginner or advanced - you can achieve top-notch results straight away with this Nikon D5000 camera! The Nikon D5000 is incredibly easy to get to grips with, and it comes with a host of automatic modes to make photography simpler. It even boasts an HD video recording mode and an adjustable screen to really open up the options.

The D5000 is great for all kinds of photography. Thanks to its 2.7-inch LCD screen, you can line up your shot carefully and capture your subjects when they're looking their best, and in addition to its Live View mode, the D5000 boasts the D-Movie mode, previously seen on the D90, enabling you to record HD videos with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution at a rate of 24 frames per second.

With its 12-megapixel CMOS sensor, this SLR camera shoots crisp, highly-detailed images. The D5000 is equipped with 11 AF points and 3D tracking, which keeps the focus on subjects even if the composition changes, and also has different scene modes and automatic white balance.

The D5000 from Nikon incorporates a dual dust-removal system, complete with low-pass filter vibrations and airflow control.

The Nikon D5000 is supplied here with an 18-55mm lens for frame-worthy results, regardless of your shooting conditions!

I got my last camera there and tbh they were great when something went wrong. Have they gotten bad?

Best price yet. I'm torn between one of these and the Canon 1000d, I know this has hd video and spot metering but aside from that is this camera really £100 better?

Actually looks like this doesn't come with the VR lens so this would be a better deal

OOO This is the camera I'm looking for after reading numerous reviews but the lens I have no Idea as I'm a novice. What's the differences in the lenses?

Look at the pentax and olympus 600/620 options as well! Best kit lenses money can buy!

karpy, I have the Nikon D5000 with the VR lens. The link above is to the D5000 that I posted on here ( hotukdeals.com/ite…-dx ).

The difference between VR and the lens on the one you're posting is 'Vibration Reduction' which is what VR stands for. So the lens will compensate for movement/vibration when taking a shot. Everyone moves slightly when taking a shot. The only way to take a truly steady shot is on a Tripod. In my opinion for the extra 6 and a half quid I'd go for the VR lens. It has more benefit over a longer focal length lens but it's worth having even on the standard kit lens and if you come to sell it to upgrade to a better lens later, it'll hold its value more than the standard lens.

Hope that helps.

Oh and, you won't be disappointed at all with the Nikon D5000. It's absolutely cracking!

I had a 1000d for 6 months and upgrade to the d5000. I can say that the d5000 it is worth the 100 quid more easy. Do not think twice. Hope it helps
