OK, so it's been replaced by the D850 now, but this is a stonking price for a non-grey import 36MP pro DSLR at £400 cheaper than elsewhere in the UK.

For those seriously considering splashing £2k on a DSLR, but unaware of the specs (lol), please see below.

NOTE, this deal expires at midnight.

Nikon D810: Key Specifications
  • 36.3MP Full-frame CMOS sensor (no AA filter)
  • ISO 64-12,800 (expands to ISO 32-51,200)
  • Electronic first-curtain shutter and redesigned mirror mechanism
  • New 'RAW Size S' 9MP Raw mode
  • Expeed 4 engine
  • Max 5fps shooting in FX mode, 7fps in DX (with battery grip + EN-EL18 / AA batteries)
  • 3.2in 1,229k-dot RGBW LCD screen with customizable color
  • OLED viewfinder information display
  • 91,000-pixel RGB metering sensor for advanced subject tracking and metering
  • Improved Scene Recognition System allows face detection in OVF mode
  • 'Split screen zoom' display in live view allows horizons/lines to be leveled precisely
  • 51-point AF system with new 'Group Area AF' mode (inherited from D4S)
  • New 'Flat' Picture Control mode for massive dynamic range capture (video-focused)
  • Auto ISO available in manual exposure movie mode
  • Zebra stripes for exposure checking in video mode
  • Uncompressed HDMI output with simultaneous recording to memory card
  • Built-in stereo microphone

Amazing camera. Still prefer my Fuji though

Great price.

Genuine question here. How much would you have to spend on glass to notice resolution bump from say a 24MP to this 36MP.

Guessing kit and entry level lenses just wouldn't cut it.

About £160, 50mm f1.8 AF-S prime would be a start.
For zoom lenses. Probably want to look at the Nikon Trinity. 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200mm f2.8s. £1,300 a lens plus.
Sigma has some sweet lenses but not much cheaper.
Second hand glass is always a money saver.
Nice price. Am tempted but my T3i still takes awesome shots... just wish it had more burst.. seems to only take about 3-4 pics before the memory gets full and it stops.
Not so sure to be honest, but my wife was shooting pro stuff with a D810 and the basic 50/1.8G with beautiful results.

I believe DXOMark benchmark lenses with different bodies, so you should be able to compare results there for the D810 v D610 or D750 with the same lenses.
Why so cold?
£510 cheaper for a grey import on ebay.

I guess either £2k for a camera sounds a lot to many people, or as the poster above puts it, they are cheaper through grey import.

This is a great price for a UK sourced camera with two year warranty, even if it's freezing on here
Budget for a new computer as well to process the huge files! :-)
