Only a small target market I imagine but this camera has great reviews for semi pro/pro photographers out there and the extra warranty makes it even sweeter.

I’m in the market for one, but this price isn’t the beat out there.
Whats so special about it?
This is my current camera. Amazing bit of kit Got mine for about £2700 a year or so back, so heat added just for the price alone. Also note you can trade in old kit via WEX to get that price down even more and they offer good trade in prices too.

Just a quick question for you, if this is 45.7 mega pixel and that new Samsung S11 due out next year is 106 mega pixel how would they compare? I know with these you can change lenses and stuff, but just curious as to is there much difference

Just had a check on camera price buster and the only better price I can find is with Gray's of Westminster for £2498.....then it's a add on £8 delivery, so still more expensive than WEX at this time......unless you look at grey imports?
£750 cheaper for grey import.

A lot of it is about the quality of the glass you put in front of the sensor....the interchangeable lens are what sets it apart from a camera phone, even it has mid/long and macro separate lenses(New Iphone has that I think). You'll also only get a cropped sensor on a phone(about 5mm), so it may have 106 meg pixel but will be on tiny senor compared to a full frame camera which are usually a lot bigger(about 1 inch)....which means full frame is great in low light and superb dynamic range in colours, so the quality if you are a pixel peeper will far out strip a smart phone. You'll get really impressive results on S10/S11, but when you want to shoot in RAW (most decent SLR's do now along with some high end bridge cameras) and manipulate photo's in light-room/Photoshop, I'd say the S11 won't be able to do that so you'll loose a drop in quality or sharpness. In short Full frame for semi pro and up, smart phones for social media and general day to day.

not all pixels are the same
how can one 20mp camera be better than another 20mp camera for image quality?
why does an image get worse at night when you raise iso even if its the same megapixels?
etc

best to look at a few samples and decide yourself

£750 cheaper for grey import.

Aye, you can save a lot of cash, but it's a chance you take if it fails. I only use grey at a certain price point(how much can I afford to loose if it fails on me). Happened to me once.....never again over £1000
Looking to get into photography and video! Want a nice camera any recommendations I would like full frame and something with a lot of lens options! I don’t know where to look for grey imports or cheap second hand glass so any advice would be great I love the look of the eos R but the prices puts me off

I'm just thinking about buying a camera, not for this price as it'll more than likely be another waste of money lol. I wanted a nice camera for taking pictures and also doing videos, at the moment I've done all my YouTube videos on my phone... don't get me wrong it does the job but we always want that bit better.
When I see 106mp on the new s11 I thought to myself does anybody really need that! I remember buying my mam a camera around 2004 7.2mp and was the bees nees, now my phone takes better quality lol

For photography and Video mirrorless is your best option, the EOS R is rather crippled for video + no IBIS and it's native lenses are few and very expensive (unless adapting older Canon lenses), I'd be looking at Sony or Nikon, like the Sony A7III or A7RIII loads of lens options and excellent tracking and AF (animal eye AF too) or Nikon Z6, excellent AF too, limited lens options but very good quality and improving.
For imports E-Infnity has worked for me. Ebay for second hand if you are careful.

For APS-C I would be looking at Fuji XT3 or Sony A6400 for decent hybrid photo/video cameras.

Thanks dude! I really want mirrorless and something that I can enable silent shooting on for night time shooting or wildlife etc

I like Sony but the s log sometimes looks a little over worked and harder to grade ( I don’t like the non flip out screens on Sony) but I do like the look of them! I dunno it’s such a minefield I wouldn’t know where to start I would be happy with second hand is there anything to look out for? Or a good second hand place maybe?

Trouble with second hand is that it's often more expensive than an import, certainly is if you buy from a shop with warranted S/H.

I watched a video where a guy bought a Sony in China and just had to fill some paperwork in to make his Sony UK warranty! Is that the case with grey imports or is it NO warranty?
Aye, it does mate, the quality of phones and compact cameras has increased so much lately, it's unbelievable. I think tech company's now just increase numbers(zoom is this, mega pixel is that that much bigger) and hope you'll buy them on that basis. I don't use my Nikon D850 as much as should as at that price you feel scared to leave the house in case you get mugged! Plus it's heavy with the lenses I sometime use. I recently bought a really nice bridge camera for about £380 from WEX (2nd hand, but grade A quality) just for holidays and trips out with the wife and family, nice and light, decent build quality and shoots in RAW(I'm a bugger for lightroom manipulation), but has great results in Jpeg that I can see an shoots 4k Video with a 1 inch sensor. It's the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ1000 and usually goes for £500 plus, but if you can pick a good 2nd hand one up you'll save a few quid. It still gets into most top 10 bridge camera charts even though it's a few year old now. I'd recommend popping into Curry's and handling one as well....sometimes you just can't beat the feel of plastic and metal before you take that dive. The high street is still good for some things

The only warranty with imports is with the importer not the manufacturer. Luckily for me and fingers crossed, had no breakdowns yet.
I'm working with 2 D750's for the past 2 years and they are the bee's knee's for photo and video, great price for the D850 and extra warranty, although Nikon are very good at standing by their cameras even out of warranty, just had my 2 shutters replaced for free on a recall.

Please remember whilst the camera is brilliant don't stick a non standard Chinese lens on it it's like putting a fiesta engine in a Roller

Pixels are not equal to each other, the size of the sensor in mobile phones is tiny (smaller than your fingernail) whereas a full frame sensor is enormous. In simple terms big sensors are much better for dynamic range (saving detail in dark and bright areas of the image), high iso (meaning their low light image quality is much cleaner) and they can offer shallow depth of field where the background is blurry and the subject sharp. Mobile phones do an incredible job with such tiny sensors and they're increasingly relying on computational photography to improve their images such as taking multiple low light photos and stacking them or using software to blur out the background.

On top of that the D850 can take a variety of high quality lenses, it has very fast tracking AF, a large buffer for storing burst images, incredible batterylife and much better handling.
Has anyone seen any comparison's with this and the Canon Eos R?

I have the EOS R, but haven't really taken it out yet, I've only taken a few shot's. Though I was more than happy with the results especially as it was in a room and no proper lighting.

Photography isn't about the MP count. If you want to take snaps in .jpg, crack on with your phone. If you want to get into landscape, wildlife and BIF, then get an DSLR. My 1DX MkII is only 24MP but I can take a better picture than all here.

I've got the option for JPEG or RAW when you put the camera into Pro mode on my phone.
I'm just wondering how well this new s11 with the 106mp camera does.
I know you said mega pixel doesn't mean all but it must count for something!
My phone camera does what I need but I like the idea of having just a camera for that purpose only but didn't know where to start.

MP is an advertisers dream that helps pull the wool over the eyes of the consumer. 0.3MP to 1MP and 2MP to 3MP was a big thing. After that it started to dilute. 8MP for most was all that was needed, to even allow for a slightly cropped A4 print. A 4k TV only displays 8.85MP at 4096x2160.

What makes the difference is the pixel size. The larger the pixel, the larger the required sensors. This in turn allows for more light to be gathered and also give better control of the depth of focus.

Then you have area of glass to catch light. The smaller lenses hinder this. Which will result in mouser images as ISO has to be luges higher to get an image in low light.

The Nikon Z6 is a good option, having built in stabilisation. Not looked at the new APS-C Z50 yet, might be an option.
So if anyone had a camera or a guy above mentioned he was a professional photographer what sites would you recommend for selling stock images? I’d love to get into photography but would like to earn money for new gear on the side if atall possible

Like I said I haven't a clue with cameras was just simply a question. I understand now the sensor on a camera is tiny and a proper camera is huge.

Shutterstock has been the best for me so far. But you have to work very hard to keep adding photos to make any decent money. You typically only get $0.25 per sale.
