Because of course, all you need to do at night time is use a flash.
Nothing wrong with AA batteries if you buy some Eneloops but on the L830, the noise is bad at anything over ISO 400, with more megapixels and probably the same size sensor this is likely as bad or maybe even worse. They also have no control of what is going on for the photographer at all (no Aperture or Shutter priority Auto - only full auto). The quality doesnt seem any better on these than on a normal compact camera. There is a pretty long range zoom though if that is the only thing that matters to you and the stabilisation isnt too bad.
Not this again! Argos must have a warehouse full which they've been trying to clear with their fake reductions for months.
£10 more you can get a Nikon 1 S1 (Grade A Refurb from Nikon).

Sure you don't get as much zoom but better sensor and 15fps continuous shooting.
But what if I want to take photos of something other than bridges....? oO

EmRM.. Google it? Camerapricecheck? Try using your nishyativ
Shutter speed of 1/1500 to 1 sec ........ Fail

Try here for the D5300: hdewcameras.co.uk/nik…asp

I bought mine from them.... great camera incidentally. Shot this on it: vimeo.com/975…814

Hdew are a good company. They do sell grey imports, but they import them legally and pay the tax on them. They've been around for a few years and have a good reputation in the photo/video world.
Another camera with a big ass poor quality lense on paired with a flea sized senor?

Manufacturers have no shame selling these...

Slrhut.co.uk. Ignore the ignorant concerning this site - they're mostly slagging it off on hearsay. Amazon can't compete with Slrhut prices which is one of the reasons you can't post their deals on here.

thats a moronic thing to say, plenty of retailers offer items cheaper than amazon
reasons are more likely to be nonukbased, grey imports, feedback, contact details, probable tax dodgers (dodge not avoid like amazon)

edit: oh i see you have a feedback thread so this is a whine

The usual rules will apply to this camera; takes a decent picture on a bright day outdoors; don't expect sharp detail at the long end of the zoom, but do expect massively over-processed images as they've stuffed more than twice the mp sensible onto the tiny sensor

Might want to try doing the most basic of research before bandying names about. Might want to also look at all the trustpilot reviews and Google certification and all the other certifications, all checkable, that SLRHut have displayed. They make absolutely no secret of how they operate - not least when they state that the import duty/tax is paid on their site, and also state that they import from the East coast of America. Which is hardly some Hong Kong back street. And Amazon check daily to see which retailers they need to duplicate prices from - but they won't ever match SLRHut's prices. Not because they can't - because they won't. But their money oils the cogs of deal posting sites - thus you won't be hearing just how uncompetitive they really are.

Incoming "Elevation clearly works for SLRHut then..." (_;)

here is the most basic of research as you require:
you asked why it cant be posted, you were linked to a thread full of terrible feedback for the site
conclusion: thats why

other things from that thread were the fake uk address and the hidden costs etc

trustpilot is a joke - try whining about this site there and see if it remains, the number of negative reviews places get removed is unreal
though if you want to go by trustpilot then maybe look at the ones that say local nikon wont touch it and needs sent back to america
