Ordered, thanks OP

Thanks. Ordered!

i took one looks good for 80 quid cheers

Any used one of these for a while? Are these heavy on batteries? You tend not to worry about this if it has a rechargeable pack.

Hottt:)

I have the L820 I know its obviously slightly different but it doesn't seem to eat batteries.
I've taken over 200 pictures/messed around with it and its still on full battery.

Here's some info about the L810 battery life-
Battery Life (shots per charge) AA Alkaline: 300 shots
AA Lithium: 740 shots
EN-MH2: 450 shots

Lol @ person that bought 50 of these!

Can these be refunded at the shop if we chance our minds or does it have to be returned via post?

Great bargain for under £80 and gorgeous but be aware of it's limitations

Heat from me

"Nikon COOLPIX L810 final verdict

The Nikon COOLPIX L810 is a no-frills superzoom with a long range, point-and-shoot functionality and a budget price tag. For those looking for a longer range than is currently available from compact super-zooms, and who aren't interested in manual exposure control or fancy filters and effects, it's an attractive proposition.

It's not without its faults though. It's slow to start-up, the autofocus is hesitant in anything other than optimal lighting and it takes a long while to start rolling when you press the movie record button. These hold it back from earning a recommended rating, but it has two things going for it that you won't easily find elsewhere: its 22.5mm super-wide angle and very low price. If zoom range is your number one priority and you can live without the bells and whistles, it might just be what you're looking for."

These do look good - but it is essentially a chunky compact with great zoom as the reviewers say. Still - great for £80...heated

Won't fit in your pocket so you'll leave it at home and won't get that shot. AA power and no viewfinder either.

Buy a decent compact or a proper semi-pro camera, not this pointless, bloated concept.

Daughter has this camera and batteries last for ages rechargeables in it last a whole days shooting with the camera on and off constantly doing video and stills..
For £80 quid its a lot of camera for the money!

They write Nikon on it and make it all big and SLR-looking so you'll think it's a bargain version of a real camera. Don't be fooled!

Good price

There are at least three threads for this camera running at the moment, at £99.99, £89.99 and £79.99, so at least this is the cheapest but that doesn't make the camera any better.

Can you recommend anything better at the price point? no

You appear to have answered your own question so I'll assume it was rhetorical and withold my wisdom!

Ordered and received today. But it had a sticker on it saying "Opened and examined by xxxxx on xxxxx". Did anyone else have this?

What does this mean? Is it returned stock? Refurbished? Why would they need to break the Nikon seal to examine it unless it was a return etc? confused

Mine looked similar, box was bit battered too. Wasn't advertised as refurbished but could be returns?

Can anyone recommend a case, do Nikon make an official one for L810?

auction over all gone

Can someone help me please! I bought this camera and now need to chage the batteries. The ones I am changing are the ones which came with the camera ( Fujitsu - Alkalines 1.5V)

I have tried many other batteries to replace but none seem to be powerful enough.

What batteries are people using please?
