The brilliant Nikon L810 16MP Bridge digital camera allows you to take astonishing images. With much of the flexibility of a DSLR without the required level of expertise, this camera is perfect for new and seasoned photography enthusiasts alike. With its VR (vibration reduction) lens you can avoid much of the blur caused by camera shake.

Good price for this (heated) but bridge cameras need a viewfinder for me.

If you do find a store with this still in Stock, you can get 1/3rd off a selection of Bridge Camera Carry Case's. If you add the Nikon Bridge Camera Case - Black. 108/7273, it takes 1/3 off the original price of £29.99, not the sale price of £19.99, meaning you get it for £9.99!! (Hope that makes sense!) Bargain!!!

This one again! They've been trying to offload these for months now.

Usual cautions apply: yes it's cheap but probably isn't what you need so think before you get sucked in. It's too big to slip in your pocket (even the best cameras don't take good shots if you leave them at home!) but if you're being more serious about your photography you'll want a proper viewfinder and you definitely won't want an AA powered camera.

This is little more than a compact camera with a big lens - and you can get almost as much zoom on a real compact, eg the well regarded Panny Lumix TZ35 is now down to little over £100 with 20x zoom and a proper Li-ion battery (plus a spare in current deals - check Currys/PCW).

Not voting as it's a reasonable price if it's really what you want but you've been warned!

Some good advice there, but why the downer on AAs? Yes, their energy density is less than Li-ions but they're perfectly usable and cheap as chips to run if you use rechargeables, and only a fool wouldn't. I've had AA and Li-ion cameras and I don't see there's much downside to AAs.

Bought this for my Son about a year ago. The picture quality is poor and it runs out of batteries really quickly. I get better pictures from my cheap Samsung compact.

Plus, if you're away from your charger / spare, you can at least find a shop to get you working again.

FOR

Easy to use
Broad focal range
Two zoom levers
One touch video recording

AGAINST
No viewfinder
Fixed LCD screen
Runs on AA batteries
Not Full HD video

I was looking to purchase L820 but now changed my mind.. voted hot

I have had this camera for over a year and apart from the fact that it goes through batteries like no man's business it is an excellent camera and takes great shots. As far as I am concern this is the best camera on the market before you step up to an SLR ... bargain, heat added.

Errr.....NO!

My wife bought a mink coloured one in the Pontypridd branch for £79.99 yesterday. The colour is not in the catalogue or online, the catalogue number is 559/8232 which gives you a sorry no results when searched for.

Very mature response Besford

It was a very economical response as I'd already given my rationale. See my comments at #3 and #5 if you need further explanation. CosmicTrader's comments at #7 also confirm.

Happy?
