Thanks - so this essentially turns your pressure washer into a water pump?

Yes, it seems so. I can't quite suss out how mind you, but I'm sure it'll all become apparent when it arrives. There is a youtube video of a man sucking up water with it, if I can find the link I'll post it.

Loving the vibe. The music ROCKS. Ahem.

Quite useful for us as water pools at the bottom of our drive. Even more useful for those who have flood problems, maybe?

Will this fit other makes of pressure washer?

This doesn't sound like a great idea. Pretty sure you should only only suck up a clean water source. The instant you start throwing muck from the bottom of your drive into the Nilfisk surely you'll be damaging the pump.

I'm no expert just check the intended use before you go wrecking it. Might be designed for use with a sealed (clean) water butt where a hose isn't available.

EDIT IGNORE This nonsense no impact to pump as explained below. Apologies for adding confusion

I'm not sure if it will fit other machines.

Nilfisk are a pretty good brand and as the suction kit is also Nilfisk I would say you're pretty safe. It says it can be used to drain ponds - pond water is pretty grotty stuff containing the unknown and if they suggest you can do that, then I'm sure puddle sucking won't affect it.

I'm not sure exactly how it works but the water seems to be going straight into a bucket through the large hose. All suggestions on how that happens welcomed!

Nilfisk also make vacuum cleaners, I just discovered from a bit of googling, so I'm sure they've got the suction thing cracked.

The suction kit is attached to the end of the high pressure lance/nozzle. As the trigger on the pressure washer gun is depressed the high pressure water jet causes a turbine to revolve at high speed, which in turn generates a vacuum that sucks the water away through a 1.7m long plastic hose. Ideal for emptying ponds, water butts and other large water containers.

No dirty water should get back into the pressure washer pump

This sucks!

Update this will not fit other makes of pressure washer
