Morecambe and Wise are the greatest comedy double act ever to grace our TV screens.

The fabulous mixture of sketches, musical numbers, insights into their ‘home’ life’ and the play's 'wot Ernie wrote' brought them audiences in the millions. On stage they were living legends with Eric’s raised eyebrows, Des O’Connor jibes and cheeky catchphrases putting every audience in the palm of their hands. And, of course, the stars – from Shirley Bassey and Elton John to Laurence Olivier and Glenda Jackson – lined up to join in the fun.

This complete BBC series includes nine series and five Christmas Specials and features every memorable moment of Eric and Ernie’s BBC career including the legendary Singin’ in the Rain, the famous André Previn appearances and the acclaimed Breakfast Stripper sketch – as well as every shoulder-and-cheek slap, Luton Town reference and “Not Now Arthur!” in between.

I have met many more people who didn't find them funny rather than did …I have met many more people who didn't find them funny rather than did find them funny.

That's great, thanks for sharing.

What strange acquaintances you have!
Are these on the original VHS or Betamax tape because it doesn't say?

I'm somewhat young (33) and whenever I see these I laugh like there's no tomorrow... Same with dad's army and basil faulty.

All the swearing and sexual content in their sketches is a right turn off.

You must be thinking of some other comedy duo. M&W always kept it clean.
I'm holding out for the 4k release!

Im sure that the 28 million people who all watched the 1977 Christmas Day episode would disagree.

The population was 56 million at the time, meaning 50% of the population watched it.

I can only assume that these people only watched cause they didnt find it funny.? :/

There were three channels so not a lot of choice. It hasn't stood the test of time well unlike Fawlty Towers, Porridge or Rising Damp which have.

I couldn't tell and you don't sound to sure either. Leave posts that assume everyone reading them are idiots, because 50% and sometimes as much as half of the people here are. With many of them not even understanding maths.

If I wasn't joking then clearly I've never seen M&W. A much more innocent age then, a sketch with two men in bed would not imply anything.
