Bear in mind this is the smaller 7.6l version, the larger Af400uk appears to have shot up in price everywhere by around £50 in the last few weeks and is now around £229. Temped to get this myself but annoyed I didn't get the bigger one when it was around £160 2 or 3 months ago. Any opinions about how practical the smaller one is?

my oven became completely redundant that day. I even cooked Christmas dinner in this badboy. Sure you still have to do some time management but at least with built in timers and sync mode this was very do-able. I cook sunday roast in it every fortnight.
frozen chips, never tasted better!
sausages, bacon, perfect. pizza subs, chicken nuggets! I even do my little aunt bessy raise at home yorkshires in there as well as pain au chocolats and sausage rolls.
i have a little dish that fits nicely into one of the drawers which opens up more possibilities for cooking.
its super easy to clean, easy to use. the AF400 only differences are 400 has bigger drawer space and can dehydrate. both things I don't need at the moment.
We have this model and it's fine for the 2 of us (also coped when one of our kids rejoined the household for a few months until his property purchase completed and still coped fine).
We've had whole chickens up to 1.9kg cook to the optimum 74c in one of the drawers in approx 65 mins! A squeeze but doable.
Heat added.

Will 1 drawer do enough oven chips for 4 greedy people? Asking for a friend.
Good question. If regularly cooking for 4 I would recommend the AF400UK.
What you could do if you had this is take out the cooked meat in drawer one and let it stand then transfer half of the chips for 4 cooking in basket 2 into basket one (wipe/quickly clean the detachable trivet first).
Or simply get the AF400UK
Definitely not. It cooks for 2 or 3 at a push I would say (had mine over a year now and love it). It is ideal for a greedy 2
I think you missed out a number there?
Good spot , edited
I googled it and wondered why I couldn't find it
I guess they have just done another big round of freebies so people promote their rather ordinary and highly priced items.
I swear you must work for Ninja, I've seen this image multiple times. Some sort of guerrilla marketing?
If you check out my deals history I've posted competitor products way more. I just like to try and be helpful, oh 14-deals-in-15-years-on-the-site-grump.
Ps you're not allowed to swear on here
PPS as I will be missing absolutely nothing of any use by doing so I'm putting you on mute.

that's very helpful, thank you
Do you have a link for the dish?
sorry, no idea. I think i got it in TKMaxx
Great that he's found the mute button. Us muted folk can discuss the persistent annoying BS he spouts in private. Welcome to the party!
Ninja no longer have the market to themselves so there are quite a few dual basket air fryers to choose from and all are cheaper and some have a much longer warranty. One example of such a device is the Salter EK4548 8.2L with a 3 year warranty (1 year standard and a further 2 by registration). Cheapest I can find it for at the moment is £129.99 delivered here
currys.co.uk/pro…tml
Only thing it's lacking compared to the Ninja AFAICT is the Max Crisp 240c setting due to its lower power rating. Only you can decide if this omission is a deal breaker. If you are worried about Salter honouring the warranty they have excellent trustpilot reviews.

The Salter and Ninja AF400UK (£100 more expensive at the moment!!) compared here (faster cooking times with the Salter is a surprise with its apparent lower power rating!)
It's really down to which would suit you best in the end.
HTH
I notice the Salter only goes up to 200 deg and is 1.6KW as opposed to 2.4KW for the Ninja. How much longer would this mean for pre-heating?
Not had any experience of the Salter but like I said in my post it's the Max Crisp (240c) setting it's missing. Never pre heated the Ninja and can't see any reason why anyone would need to preheat an air fryer as the capacity compared to a traditional oven is so much smaller. It's basically one of the reasons that IME they are considerably cheaper to run.
If you read that comparison review I linked to, their experience was that the Salter actually cooked quicker and produced crispier chips than the Ninja!
Edit: probably going to be accused of working for Salter as well now. Oh, and the Birmingham Mail
Not the chicken picture again.
Don't get on the wrong side of bellboys, they take air fryers VERY seriously.
