Nintendo 2DS £99.99 @ Sainsbury's instore

Found 14th Oct 2013
Almost matches the Tesco Direct deal, and currently £10 cheaper than Amazon. Spotted in the Warrington store, but judging by the big price label, it looks as if it's national.

There could be a number of reasons why someone might prefer to get this from Sainsbury's. For instance, I have over £40 in Nectar points that could be put towards this.
BTW

^ That would be a very good reason! On the other hand, the tesco deal would give away free delivery, plus £10 off for new members and also you can use tesco vouchers for the purchase aswell. And, not to forget clubcard points too! :-)

p.s. would save hassle and fuel, driving to sainsburys; unless you live next doors!
Also better for those who refuse to buy anything from tesco i.e me.

Except for the fact that Tesco can't find anybody's address (see the Tesco offer on HUKD), and you can't order it for delivery or collection!
^If you live in the British Overseas Territories, they might have trouble finding it. Otherwise they are normally spot on!
Should I pay a little bit more and get a 3ds?

Probably - if you're even considering that then you'll be better off with the 3DS or the 3DS XL. The 2DS is aimed squarely (wedgely?) at the under-8 market segment (which makes complaints about it sound rather bizzare).

Would be a good excuse to get this and Pokemon and tell the wife it was for my 1 year old but prefer the look of the 3ds and it obviously gives you the option of 3d. Will wait till I can find one bundled with a game for sub £100 I think

I've got a 3DS but never actually use the 3D feature on it, I find it quite poor. The console and the games, however, are excellent. The main thing I prefer about the 3DS is that the lid shuts so I find it easy to carry around with me. Deoends entirely on which you prefer the look of and if you give a damn about 3D.

hot deal, btw!

You may have to wait awhile or get a bit lucky (or snag from the Blockbuster deal posted recently). I did a few searches to try to find out why the standard 3DS consoles were fetching pretty decent money on eBay when I had expected sub£80 sale prices. A flick through John Lewis, Argos, Amazon, Game, Shopto, Zavvi all shows a focus on 3DS XL and 3DS XL bundles. While I don't think they're actually phasing out the standard 3DS, the shops look like they're allocating more space for the XL versions than they are the standard versions.
